The Dynamite will be more durable than the Ofna one, but performance wise I don't know, everyone seems to run the Dynamite ones anyway.

How can you get better run time with an 0801 on the EBM5 when thats a bottom end pipe? I thought the EBM5's allready have a ton of bottom
The 0801 is a perfect pipe for the 5PT, you don't lack anything anywhere, and you just get the best run times with it.

The Ebm5 Full mod is retimed for more top end and has a smoother bottom end for a buggy.

Anyone here tried switching to the Gen 5.5 carb? What did you think?

What would you recommend on the race prep version in a buggy then? The 086 or the 2047?

22Racer 05-23-2009 11:55 PM

I would probably say th 086, I haven't ran the 2047 on a 5 port. I am running the 2047 on my modded 3 port sport and it is the best pipe I've ran on it yet, the top end is amazing.

Well it's Sunday morning and waddya know the sun is shining..Unbelievable after the last week or two but it's finally happened. So I'm off to the track to fine tune the MM5 7 port with the new 2072 pipe..I think it's just the barest fraction rich on the bottom end.Last test before I ran out of time the motor had just the slightest hesitation before launching into a screaming beastie.

Took the entire car apart this week as well while the weather was crap..Front driveshafts destroyed.(*note to self* never use aluminum cvd's again) Rear diff blown seal and no oil in it..All underside screws now replaced with "tony's screws" ..Anyone who doubts the value of these screws - I dnf'd in my last semi final because of one rounded out hex screw head..couldn't swop in a new center diff fast enough..BOY! was I pissed..I still have some stainless on the car upper side especially where they only screw into plastic and don't take much strain but everything crucial and everything that is threadlocked or can get filled with dirt or abraded is replaced.Car looks like new again and the drivechain spins almost as free as an mp9..YAY..

Time to get it dirty again.......

I also have the 2047 on my MM5 3 portR and it is simply awesome..

So is safe to say if I get a 7 port and a full mod EBM5 I can run the 0801 on both?

mattwoodcraft 05-24-2009 12:35 AM

i think the 0801 pipe would be best over all pipe in performance from bottom end to top end , some people are useing the 2047 header on the 0801 pipe aswell

its funny how many headers and puipes you can own until you find one that you are happy with i am going to try the 2053 pipe and my go 3 port moded and also on my 5 port befor i buy any more pipes i will also test the re 10 pipe depending on run times though

Gizmatron 05-24-2009 03:45 AM

Well track testing went well..Ummmm after embarrassing start..7 port fired first time..lovely sharp crackle and car went backwards..bugger! not paying attention last night during the rebuild and fitted the front and rear diffs back to front..that'll teach me to watch NCIS at the same time..

The 2072 rocks is all I can say.Power absolutely everywhere..so much down low now I'm having to feather the throttle or spin out on the loose sections...didn't manage to get a proper tank time yet as I forgot my stopwatch but it looks good..at least 9.30 i'd say ..will time it properly later in the week..

mattwoodcraft 05-24-2009 04:09 AM

un lucky man about the diffs  im sure alot of people have done the same thing including my self im happy i have a car now that doesnt let you do that.
tv and rebuilds great combination

Yeh I know..do one thing at a time..I was thinking of engine rotation direction when I installed the diffs and of course the main pinion turns the other way:eek:..naturally there were plenty of people at the track to laugh at my expense.:flaming:.mind you only took me about 15 minutes to strip and swop them around again then I wiped the smiles off their faces on the track

my 7 port is on about 7-8 litres now and is really starting to open up..couple more litres and I'll swop the rod and pin etc then really fine tune it..

mattwoodcraft 05-24-2009 05:49 AM

sounds like a plan < what do your crank bearings feel like at the moment after 7 lt im due to change some of mine but they feel okey more so just preventitive maintaince i guess
