I have Cabin fever so bad. We have so much snow on the local track.

I have a new Go 7 port with an 053 pipe in my Losi 8 that needs to be broken in but it is way to cold. I'll have to wait a couple more months for some 50-60 degree weather.

It's going to be 79 degrees today in Austin, and I can't break in my Go/Losi! No one will let me use their starter box after the GO ate one on Monday. Hopefully my new starter box arrives today.

Dont worry man, my wife once in a while goes to the track with me and she keeps talking and laughing between the guys so she is ok with that ... in fact, this weekend she will be my "pitman" during practices :)

sometimes when you remove the os carb it leaves a sleave in the crankcase check your crankcase as they are a direct fit and so are novarossi carbs

yeh retro r/c is right..the os carb has a heatshield sleeve that it can leave in the crankcase hole..be careful removing it as I think its made of some kind of ceramic like material and cracks easily (from experience )..especially if its been on a motor thats run a few litres..

So I cut my LSN down as a could'nt find a OEM short LSN !
And I have to say, it does feal different now like a normal carb , I can't wait till tommorow I'm gonna finalliy get to race my new D8 !
Here's what I got :

HB D8
Go 5PT
SW 053 pipe
Hitec HS-985MG/JR Z-590MG
JR Z-1 Pro

I used all the gear on my TL8 last year but with a 0801 pipe but It broke from a crash so the sportwerks will have to do for now.

Okay i have a question, my 3port is not even a gallon old and kicking butt, but when it does start to go, who do i need to send it to fr a rebuild and a mod, my friend coty says brian at pro twister mods is awesome, and he does awesome work as I have seen on coty's motor, but is there anyone else that does equivalent

slakr 01-25-2009 12:25 PM

I am getting ready to break-in my new engine. I have been told for all intensive purposes that it is a GO .21 5-port.
http://www.casterracingusa.com/produ...8&cat=0&page=1

My concern is the head shims. It came with two brass shims installed, but no additional shims in the box. Some have said that they have three brass and one silver shim.
I use TQ 30% fuel (same as I use in my Novarossi 21BF).
Do I need additional shims?

22Racer 01-25-2009 12:55 PM

Don't worry about the shims, take one brass out after a gallon.

Maycam10, Brain at Pro twister does great work but I'm not sure if he pinches sleeves or not. I also do rebuilds and mods, and resize sleeves.
