For ALL not "believers" of Go engines simply-try again...seriously

Anyway I still have a question about how you Guru measure idle gap of .7-1.0 with venturi or without, because I found today in late evening practice a difference and even maybe a key for me...I used a IRDC ventures.
Please share

I can say, for me, I found that best and easiest way to get wake up engine is,

idle gap, take some of the wife needles .6 or .8 whatever for idle gap.
put HSN about .5-1.in. put LSN about 1.5in AND forget about HSN.... just adjust LSN NOT by hour, but 1/2 hour and YOU will see where is power!!!! Seriously, this evening after adjusting of 3tanks I pushed down throttle to 75% because that was DEWIL.. with 086 pipe in buggy and M2C soft clutches, longer pressure pipe, lower head...

Sorry, but who say, Go engines is hard to regulate it is not true, just try, BUT more accurate!!!! peace

We tried a Nova 9901 pipe on a Ebm5 last weekend, was a very good combo, we liked the Dynamite 086 but this gets better mileage.

Seems like quite a few are having trouble with breaking in motors, this is one expample of why it's important to buy from a local Hobby shop or a dealer that can answer your questions. It is worth the extra $ to have it broken in profesionally, properly broke in motors last many more gallons.

I'm a new user of GO motors/engine (GO 21 5 port) first I'm a bit of a newbie on tuning and use to tune the HSN first before the LSN, I got the hang of it slowly yet surely but still not an expert. When I switch to GO it a different story for you have to set the LSN first before the HSN or leaving it to default setting. I'm happy with my GO motor still learning from it, together with the Dynamite 086 pipe I can get around 10m32s which amaze me.btw using the smallest ventury I can. I never had much fun using the GO motors/engines power wise no doubt about it just enough for my buggy soon will try it out on a truggy for fuel economy, my LRP z28R is just a fuel hog.

Thank you to the people supporting this thread for it I learnd and still learning. I would happily recomend GO motors/engines to anyone.

thanks

The restrictors don't go all the way to the bottom of the carb throat, so in effect they do not alter the idle gap. Set the gap with no restrictor so you can judge the gap better, then fit the restrictor of your choice. Idle won't be affected, just the maximum volume (flow) of air that can pass into the motor at WOT.
If you go from a big restrictor to a small you may have to lean the motor slightly and vica versa, due to the differing volumes of air being passed into the motor affecting the mixture.

The .25 6 port race is awesome in a truggy, just put the turbo button in this weekend at it picked up more power. It gets good mileage too.

LMFAO, sometimes I have to stand and think, Barry, Your an idiot! The whole thing about pinch? Forget it, I realized later in the evening, dude thats the 3 port from last summer that turns by hand (whole summers racing in the buggy). I had switched the 5 port from truggy to buggy cause its easier to deal with on the starter box. And so when I went to the truggy and piddled with it, like wow this turns over alot easier now.......
I went back ou to the garage last night to take engine apart and was like, crud, that was the wrong engine I was talking about,LOL So yeah the 5 port is still tight as hell, its all good. And I took a straight edge to the HSN and LSN to get flush and then went .5 in with HSN and 1.25 with LSN. Runs much better. idled in garage for quite awhile and temps hit 230 but as soon as I took it out and ran it around the driveway(i can do 8's now!) it went down to about 180-195.

Thanks for the info, due to current situation a bargain is just what I'm looking for. I'm not concerned about the warrenty but not knowing about New vs Old my concern would be parts. the gen 5 parts are still available? Where can I learn more about the GO, new vs old, avialable product, distributers, etc?

I'm a newb to the GO engine and still learning where to find info let alone absorb the info. Very excited about what I have learned on this forum. Thanks to all for contributing.

BTW, love your country and people! Spent last October there touring around Sydney, Melbourne, Uluru and Lizard Island. AU Rocks!

wrap some foil around the head. I ran 30% sidewinder worlds, it makes it run cooler. thats on my 5 port on the 7's I use 20% sidewinder. the temps are a little hotter with the 20%

gen 5 parts are still available. there are a few people who will chime in on where to get them. 22racer,massive mod's fx racing hobbies in Canada. the gent that had his listed here had his stuff wrapped. Talk to him he might come down in price. wrapped and in the original box is always better then a box full of parts. maybe that was just the pic of the product. keep us informed of what, what shape and how you got it.
