Thanks

No if I remember right I do believe it was covered back in this thread somewhere. only the 3-5-7 ports are inter changeable and I am not sure about the 3port crank though. I know the rods are. send a pm to mark at massive mods or 22racer,grizz,marz.

Any help would be great.
Thanks
Lean the LSN 1/8 of a turn at a time until you get a steady idle. High idle for a couple of secs is not bad, but 10 sec means you may be a little rich on the bottom end.
If it's only when you come in after a race and the tank is low, then you may be a little lean on the top, but temping at 115 would suggest this is not the case.

I am sure Mark said the .28 and Sport internals were not interchangable with the 3,5,7 Pro series.
What happened to the 7 Port ? Unusual for a new motor to crap out like that. Are you using a good break in method for 20 or so tanks before gunning it. I think you had similar problems before ???

Grizz is right, you need to baby the piss out of it until they are broken in. And it takes time, lot's of it. also massive mods sells this run in oil that I think helps a lot. a little pricey but it seems to work. I will know in about another 8-10 gallons. I wish I would have known you were looking for all those parts. I have them.

The rod on a .28 is the same but the crank has more stroke. They have a new hardcoated crank out now.

well Yes I did have similar problems before but its nothing i did. I broke this motor in careful and never gunned it at all. It never temped above 240 and everything ran fine. We have come to the conclusion that the crankshaft has been bent from the start causing the same thing to happen again. Russell is a great guy and is sending me a new rod and crank for the mishap. thanks to all who replied

Default New Go Carb tuning

Whats the ideal tuning starting point for the new GO carbs that have a little red go sticker on them? I'm in the process of breaking in a new GO 5 port (1/2 gal. so far) and it seems to favor a fatter setting on the LSN. If I try to lean out the LSN, I get a machine gunning sound after a 1/2 throttle run. Right now I have the LSN about flush and the HSN at about 1 turn in and it's still fat on top. I'm pretty sure I set the idle at 1mm.

I have never seen a bent crank in the 100's of motors I've rebuilt. I don't recommend using piston locking tools, I have seen broken cranks from those. (not a Go)

I do believe the hsn is supposed to be 1/2 turn in with lsn 1-1/2 turns in

That's the setting for the older carbs. The engine will not run idle with those settings. It acts super lean and dies unless I feather the throttle. Does anyone have experience with the brand spanking new carbs with the little red GO sticker on them? They have a long LSN but it wants to run with a fat LSN. I'm going to double check the idle setting but I'm pretty sure it's at 1-.7mm.

I've had the older carbs on my 7 port and tuned them with a lean LSN and a fat HSN before. They're finniky little bitches to tune. I put in a Novarossi carb in my 7 port and life has been sooo much easier since and I've never owned nor tuned a novarossi before.
