Go-Tech Engines Thread

then please contact him and have him log onto this posting. it isn't your fault....thank you... you and tmizzle are the only ones that wants to help...if russle was active in the company reputation this would have already been resolved...it's not just the stickers......it's the lack of customer service from race factor...i email him a month ago with questions and still no response. strike one........bought stickers two weeks late...strike two......letting other people handle his buisness....strike three....i'm sure he is a nice guy to people that are well grounded into the race side of this hobby....but the regular joe...slow to assist

look i'm done....if you count the cost to the hours a person has to work to pay for some things in life......the price of the stickers (plus $3.00 s/h) and the price i bought the engine at the hobby shop it would equal to 27 hours of work i put in to buy this product.....customer service is really needed....last post

All the guys that run 7 ports in their buggies are more than happy with them.
Combine a 7 port turbo with the Go 0801 pipe and you will be pleasantly surprised. Just remember the Go motors take a little time to run in before you get the best out of them (around 1.5 gal). If you take the time to run them in carefully, you will have a great motor that will perform and last very well.

I will have to say GO TECH really stepped up for me. I got a new 5 port that had a faulty carb body and Russell at Racefactor shipped me out a new one in like two days no questions asked. Support like that will keep me a Go tech fan! Thanks Racefactor

Tbirdowner - sorry to hear about your problems. I have only been racing for 5 months or so and I can honestly say that the customer service I have received from racefactor has been the most phenomenal customer service I have ever seen (outside of O'Donnell - which I'm not sure how they even make money with the overly generous way they resolve problems). They respond immediately and usually go overboard resolving problems. I have heard similar stories from many others at my club. I know you must be frustrated, but I would call or email them one more time as I can only think that your issue has just slipped through the cracks.

I received two calls from russel and his staff this afternoon. Russell is attempting to resolve this issue. Russell said this issue should not have arrived at all. He also confirmed that there is some restructuring going on at this time. I have said this before race factor produces a top notch product. you can get the best engines from Russell and Race Factor....this will be the last post of this issue from me....

Russel also had a problem with his site. 2 emails got sent back and a message on the site did not go through. After I called him from the returned emails I told hime to look for a message on his site for my order, when he did not see it he called me back within the hour and took my order over the phone. I ALWAYS call just to make sure a email or message went through when I purchase something. No email response, then there is a phone to use. Alot of people forget that. I am sure some people here would have his number the would have russel's permission to give out to contact him since I think he prefers email. I of course do not have his permission so cannot. He is in the process of finding out why he had not gotten messages or resolved it already. Racefactor has ALWAYS been perfect for me but like I said I prefer to call over email when possible.

Hi.
I would like to ask, what size of carburetor insert are you using with Go 7 port Turbo.
I use 7.5 mm insert and it seems the engine is not that fast as it should be.
My carb. setup is HSN: 1 turn in from flush and LSN: 2.75 turns in from flush.
I have made Side-by-Side comparison with AXE Rossi m21 3 kanal (low budget engine) http://www.modellbauversand.de/e/pi218/pi27/pd170.htm and I didn't notice any difference. Acceleration & top speed are same.
I have expected little more from Go engine

Do you have the long needle LSN with these settings ? If you have the older short needle these settings will be way to rich on the HSN.
For the long LSN your settings sound about right. Maybe a little lean on the HSN, but that depends on pipe, how run in engine is etc, etc.
I run a 7.5 mm blue Go restrictor on my stock 7 Port Turbo and it goes great. I haven't done any side by side direct comparison with other motors (only going down the straight at my local track when racing, and the 7 Port comfortably holds it's own against other more expensive motors).
Running 0801 pipe, HSN 1/2 to 3/4 in from flush depending on conditions, LSN 2 1/2 to 2 3/4 once again dependant on conditions of the day.

2. I have new long needle.
I think I will try 8 mm insert.

3 port suggested plug? and also i've got an os2050 which ran good on my old 5 port i was wondering how it would perform on the 3 port...since i wouldn't have money for both the pipe and motor....

Is the low down bog encountered on the 3 port R engine caused by the low end needle/carb or because of the weak bottom end power?
I have tried cutting the low end needle as someone suggested here but actually this doesn't do anything since the problem is found on the angle of the needle as it's closing down at the end rather than it's actual length. So this did nothing to solve my problem.
I tried a fully aluminum RB carb from an on-road engine but it was vapor locking the engine after one tank...needed to drop fuel on it to cool down in order to start it back up and die after a few laps.
So i search more and found an off road RB carb but gor tired of trying to solve this problem by changing carbs all the time so i need someone to answer my first question...!!
I even changed my JP-1 exhaust for the new Hong Nor 3016 new pipe which in teory gives even better low end power.
I'm currently using a C6TF Novarossi plug so i can also try the OS P3 or P4 if this will help any...!!
