By the way, the 3 port had a ton of power.
The engine is fine (he had a broken clutch spring and I was trying to tune it scrambling while running 2 classes myself lol ) anyway does anyone know if the 5 port piston sleeve rod will work in the 3-port block?

Anyone know what other carbs besides the vspec and nova will fit our Go's? I'm just looking at options since my Go carb has that wiggle.

Has anyone heard of Go updating the carbs and fixing that issue?

I have an extra practically new carb. I'll sell it to you if you're interested in it

There is a guy on ebay selling " Factory Modified" Go Tech engines.

http://cgi.ebay.com/GO-21-7-2p-Turbo...742.m153.l1262

Mybe the PT version is like mugenb46, the PT might mean Pro Tuned or factory modified.

I just posted the link to show the mill. I would still rather buy a Go Tech engine from one of the reputable dealers here on RC Tech forum

I thought that they were factory motors that were tuned
to ProTwister specs. Sounded good to me Brian.

Between Os and Novarossi thats more than half the motors out there. Rb is also the same.

As far as updating the carb, if 500 people have Go's on this board and only 3 have had trouble I wouldn't think there is really a problem to fix. I've had Novarossi carbs do this before and 1/2 of Os carbs the insulator stays in the motor.

Umm, I've read about it quite often on this board and others. I'm thinking it's a problem related to the '08 carbs? Either way, we shouldn't have to deal with brand new carbs developing a 'wiggle'. Mind you, I still love my Go's and I understand that I get what I pay for. I don't plan on changing brands anytime soon.

I was told by our distributor that the PT series is the tecnical name for the gen 5 engines.

It seems that some parts of the world are just a little bit slower at getting them or they wanted to sell off their older stock before importing the gen 5 engines

There is no such thing as a " factory Modified " Go engine at this time. Special RC are taking a bit of artistic lisence i think. their engines are all gen 4 from what i can tell. if you want the latest versions of Go Engines you will only get them from approved Go Dealers. Special RC are not an approved Go Dealer and cant offer any factory warranty.

the PT is the gen 5 engine , same thing .

Cheers !

Hi Adrian, how's it going mate ? You missed a good days racing on Sunday. Track a little wet and puggy to start - VP Pro 804 Mini Pins worked a treat Then switched to 802's when it dried out. Wicked tyres man !!!

Paul ran his 3 Port and it went really well. Nice power band, he loved it.

Hey, that sounds like a certain Go retailer we know bro
No Gen 5's, no 0801 pipes - but I hear he is going to stock the new Rocket propellant you have been using so that's something at least.

CU at the WRC event. Should be awesome. GS and Go-Tech will have pretty good representation looking at the entries.

Later -

Ah, yes - that was quite exciting in it's own right !!! Not content with one session, they ended up having 3 rounds in total - crazy. I know what should happen according to the club rules, so it will be interesting to see if both parties get the same punishment handed down.
I just paid my subs for this year last week too. Geez, if I had known they were going to carry on like that I wouldn't have bothered.

Anyway, back to the topic Gen 5 - 5 Port ehh Is it a MM modded version ? After having a drive of Pauls 3 Port the other day I am quite keen to try a MM modded Gen 5 - 3Port, but it will be interesting to see how yours goes in comparison. Mark at MM recommended a modded 5 Port for my buggy when I enquired a few weeks ago. So many choices - it's great

Yeah, there's nothing modified about that, that is a 100% stock GO 7 port, this guy is basicly lieing on a national selling store, if it was properly modded all that heavy mass would be gone, and filled, the rod would be CNC cut for less weight, and the piston cut, along with improved case work, nothing modded on that Factory modded GO, this is what i have warned everyone about that finds these GO's on ebay for a great deal, you see FM and get sent a stock engine.

just a standard gen 5 and paul's 3port was modded by a kiwi and it looks like mines going there next as it's really improved on what is already a good engine.

I would love to have a couple of Mark's (MM) engines (hint hint)to run but they're just a little out of my buget unfortunately, but if I could afford it I'd have them tommorrow.

I'll probably save the 5port for the nats or the south islands and use my insane 7port in the buggy at the WRC meeting.

if you are interested in a MM engine talk to Paul as he can get them through Mark being the NZ distributor
