i was considering purchasing a go tech motor but i am not sure what would be the best or ideal buggy motor. if it helps any, my local track in AZ is the nitro pit. i was looking and saw allot of people said that the 5 port has allot of bottom end and the 7 is a little calmer. but i just saw that they just came out with a new 3 port. if anyone could easily let me know what would be the best or ideal motor and pipe combo i saw that alot of people were using the 086 and i believe 053 pipes. the jp-3 pipe calms down the 5 ports bottom end? not sure but if anyone could lead me in the right direction. thanks

Im having the same issue with my 3 port spec R, it has a weak bottom. It has about 1.5 gallons thrue it and i cant seem to get the bottom to come alive. Just like he said, right when the midrange kicks in it takes off like a bat outa hell and has a screaming top end. I have the clutch set-up for more bottom, I have ran an 086, jp-3, and an 053 for pipes. The 053 had the most grunt, but it still was nothing like my 5 port or my sport 3 port. It runs good, at my last race, no flames in three 6 min quals and a 35 min main. It also like to run a little cooler than I like, but it still has quite a bit of pinch so that mite change. Im going to throw a nova carb on it today and see how it likes that. I know they changed the crank on these motors for a smoother bottom, so maybe thats it. Are you guys running the spec 3 port motor experiencing a weaker bottom on these motors???

would you guys recomend the .21 7-port, or the new .21R Spec 3-port for a buggy.
|
out of those 2 i would try the 3R.
The new 08 GO7 and GO5 should be in stores soon. I have both and i will let you guys know how they perform compared to the 07gos. |
I am waiting until late june/july to buy my new buggy, what are the chances the new engines will be out by then>?

I just got my second order of the NEW Go's in. I heard the sleeve has some revised porting (more radical or something). Not sure. Check them out at holeshothobbies.com I think they have been out for about 2 weeks now.

Tmizzle, could you tell us what is changed in the 08 version besides I assume the new head markings. Is it just the updated crank? Or maybe an improved carb! Thanks Man!!
I will take a look on the inside and see if there is any difference. They all have the same head as the 3 port but with the new logo and design. The carb is visually a little different, but im not 100% sure if there is actually anything different, i will report back as soon as I fire one of these bad boys up. My current 3 port is still running strong, but i plan to break in one of the new engines soon. The .25 and .28 is unchanged as of now. |

Ok here is the deal with the new 3 port race, and what i mean by V specish. The OS v spec crank has alot of mass, and the crank induction is shaped inside as a ramp but made of the crank steel, the old race 3 had the same induction shape as the 5 and 7 and .25, it now has the same shape as a v spec, also adding more mass inertia. Now the crank face. it resembles a OS as well, but the left and right sides are taller and most of the mass is at the bottom, the leading edge is also cut similar to the OS. The new rod is also changed, it has a more noticable knife edge on it, and should have made it lighter, the sleeve is pretty much the same as before, if i had the stuff to do it with, all i would change on the 3 port would be a beefier heavier crank and a shorter stroke, other than that, the new race 3 should be even better than the first, oh and i have 2 of them modded looking for a home:sneaky:
