Thanks for the feedback on the pipe tmizzle, I'll have to give it a try. This .25 has been a real pain breaking in, temps to high, rarely under 250, and if it is, no power, notice carb had air leak, and bottom o-ring in case for carb was a little fuzzy, I don't get that, I never had the carb out of it, sealed the carb, but have not tried since then, around a half plus or so fuel thru it. This is my 3rd Go engine, I have the 5 port and the 7 port motors already.

Hey guys im haveing a little trouble mounting up my new 5pt on my 8ight. it seems like i cant get any play on the clutchbell. Do i need to dump the GO collet and get a losi collet to get the correct spaceing?

Yes, I run Losi's and you need to use the Losi collet or a .12 size collet. I have to run a washer between the engine and collet also.

Colin, I've ran the Go .21 in my truggy for a long time, then it dumped on me, and I had a hard time getting it tuned in, so when Russell and I went to the Silverstate, I got a .25 from him to run at the Silverstate, but never got it broke in in time, it's in my other truggy that my son is racing at the truck nats in a couple of weeks, maybe I get get it ready for him to run.

noobie question
Hello guys,
Just got my GO Engine and break in was done by the tech in our LHS. Just have a quick question, How do i know if i have the Go .21 7Port is a Gen2 or Gen4? after reading all 18 pages, it was said that it has a Composite Carb. First of how do i know if its a composite carb? Sorry total noob with these things. Thanks, Jojo |
I will be running Go engines this year and I have a couple of questions. Which heads fit these engines? Add the extra shim for break in? Do they still need to be sealed up like the old ones?
Thanks, Colin |
Hi Colin, Not sure on the heads, but I am sure one of the tech wizards on this thread will be able to help you there.
Use the break in shim for sure - especially on the 5 and 7 Ports. I believe the new 3 Port Race is not quite as tight. I have broken in two 5 Ports and the shim makes it sooooo much easier to start and initially tune. Leave the shim in for around 20 tanks or so. You will feel when the motor loosens up some. Doesn't hurt to seal the motors up. Back plate, pinch bolt ends and around the carb neck ;) |
any Nova/RB head will fit.
The new heads from GO look pretty sweet. i was never a big fan of the GO logo with the tire. The new logo looks great. to see the new heads go to www.go-engine.com |

Hey it's me with .25 6port. I got through two tanks of break through but I couldn't find an idle. Had to mess with the needles just to get a good temp. I know every mill is different no matter what manufacture. The needles are a rough estimate in settings. When I finish my break in what is the highest temp I should see (on the box still)? Thanks for the input.
