Default Kyosho drivers of the NorthWest

Kyosho drivers unite, Here is the place to share your setups and recomendations for the tracks in the Northwest.
Now that there are more RB-5's and ZX-5's on the tracks let's get together and share your setups.

Tacoma R/C Raceway

RB-5
I'm currently using the Tebo setup.
http://www.petitrc.com/setup/kyosho/...re20081230.pdf

I thought it had a bit to much steering so went to the middle hole on the front tower and moved front axles forward .30. Seems very mellow and easy to drive hard.

ZX-5
Box stock setup. with center 1-way.

All car's are running Tekin RS/10.5 rolling on panther clay tires. setup for superstock ECT racing.

Possable spare parts to have on hand.
RB-5, front and rear arms, front pivot block. shock caps.

ZX-5 SP, Front and rear arms. Front castor blocks. front and rear shock towers. and shock tower mounts.

Upgrades?
RB-5
wide rear upgrade? Slightly more sidebite. Matches in with what the pro's are posting for setups.
Items needed. Rear arms, dog bones, shorter shock bodies, longer shock shafts. shorter shock tower.
kit available at speedtech.com.

Theres a start I'll post more with part numbers in the coming days.
Post your findings and prefered setups.

Tim, is there anywhere on the net we can download editable setup sheets. I have looked for them and don't seem to be able to find them.

Hey guys,

I'm not officially a Kyosho driver yet. I bought a slightly used RB5, but haven't driven it yet. I met Doug, and "Double E" at TRCR last week, and talked to a couple of the other K drivers there too. When I get my electronics for it, I'll ping you guys more, with questions.

Right now I'm driving a B4, but don't want to sacrifice my electronics for the RB5, at least not until after the series race next weekend.

I picked up an RB5 after seeing you guys run at the PDX arm of the ECT at A-main...I'll be pinging you guys for setup help shortly (got the tebo setup on now) - nobody is actively running an RB5 down here (only raced mine once so far), there are a few ZX-5, but they are of the old school variety, not SPs or FSs.

Here's a few questions for you guys:
What gearing are you using for 17.5, is there a way to get a small spur on there while preserving the slipper?

Do you set the car up similarly when running 17.5 vs. 10.5?

What weight are you running your car at, are you adding a lot extra weight like the B4 guys do?

Thanks!!

Raced my used RB5 at Mike's last night

It was planted to the track right from the start until I tried to jump it like my AD2-E and broke one of the rear "mid conversion" arms.

Had to resort to standard arms with long CVD's but reduced shock up travel about .300" to prevent binding.

Will Scott have the long arms at the shop?? I need to get some of these for the ECT

I've got onroad setups to offer. Other than that, it looks like you've got the offroad ones covered.
