I've been on the fence about this thing for a LONG TIME. And now IGT has their kit which basically looks like a hopped up x3 (correct me if I'm wrong). What are the known issues with this car that I should take care of right away? I
Is that IGT8 car worth it?

Yes the IGT8 has most of the parts you need. Dual brakes, larger tank, 43/13 gearing, 4 shoe clutch (try 2 carbon, 2 aluminum with lighter spring on carbon) ........ But you should get 10 degree front hubs, which you can use the Ofna aluminum or you can use the plastic Serpent one with just a little work. Body works well, go to sweep tires.

I've run this car all season with not many breakdowns, pretty quick.

To me the IGT is basically all the options that Hong Nor and some others make added to the basic kit, and it comes in kit form. The diff gears are the Sabre buggy version (13/43) as are the engine mounts, and the brake kit is the same as X3S-27 from Hong Nor. But no body, tires etc, just like buying any other high end kit where you choose your own. The roll bar is a great add on but you can see in the pic where the holes were just added to the stock chassis. Their upgrade kit is still cheaper than sourcing all the parts separately though.

I think I'm going with the RTR and go for some speed runs and build it little by little. I have some 4 shoes clutches still left over but what is the clutch bell everyone is going with? I heard about the bearing issues.

Use the stock clutch bell, with 3 or 4 small bearings, keep clean and lubricated and you will be good.

Good to hear. I still have 8 sets of sweep tires from my Kyosho. How are the stock servos? Decent enough for the break in?
