kreidel: The kit comes with 37 all around. The RDL CVDs are pretty durable.

Isn't it obvious he's referring to the universals? duh!!

RD logics universals are weaker than Mugen's. Stick with Mugen originals. Just make sure to check the length of the universals. The shorter ones goes to the front. Lately the ones package as rear are the shorter ones.

Do you have any pictures of what the "universal swing shaft" looks like?

I told you the mistake. They've been packaging the longer CVD as "front". When installed it binds the front end. The one packaged as "rear" are shorter and works in the front along with the o-ring.

This wasn't always the case. The fronts were orginally shorter and were packaged as such.

read my first question again.

I asked, how can you so sure this is mugen mistake to put a longer bone in front?

The CVD has been released more then 6 months, and you are saying mugen has been making this mistake since then?

The packing of the CVD is a very simple process in a factory. if mugen is making such a mistake at least for the last 6 months, can you tell if mugen has make any mistake with the packing of their kit? Please explain.

Do you know if the universals are of different length? If so which ones are the fronts and which are the rears?

Go ahead and try to use the longer ones in front. You'll see that at 199mm it's binding and if you try to set your front to 198mm it's impossible.

Mugen will correct this.

i am using the "Long" bone in front with no blinding at all even I still put the o-ring on the oneway outdrive !

so, what's your point?

chookgb 10-14-2003 11:06 PM

cvd's

i also run the longer cvd's in the front with no binding problems

Roger 10-14-2003 11:14 PM

same here. no binding what so ever.

JustRace 10-15-2003 05:24 AM

All I know is the shafts for the universals are two different lengths. One is 54mm and the other is 51mm. Currently the ones measuring 54mm is packaged as front. This doesn't work for me and especially if you put the oring on. The next time you take your front end apart go ahead and measure the universal shaft. If you say you're using the oring I would think you have the 51mm installed. Either that or your front width is more than 199mm.
