Dirtly little trick: If you have access to a milling shop, ask for them to deck the internal side of the head to promote better contact with head and button. [/B]
There is a machined head (z-speed) that has the same dimensions as a regular Nova Rossi head, but since the head is machined and not cast, it has an absolutely flat mating area for the head button.

This head makes my engines run 15-20 *F cooloer than a regular NR head.
I'm already looking for a machinist who can turn my 3 ZAC heads...

Why does it come with the head button? You can't use the stock button with it?

Like the one I attached?

Works much better than the old '9 fins'. Use routinely on my engines because lowers the temp of the engine about 15ºC, main problem with this head is when used with Lola shells is quite exposed to scratches if you flip the car.

Default Question re Spring

Hello,

I'm now using the FiveStars BLUE spring. When compare to the Mugen's Blue, I've noticed that the FiveStars has less coils. They both have almost the same thichness at 1.74mm in diameter and of course the same in height.

What would the less coils spring perform when compare to the Mugen's one? Any better or worse?

Thank you,

Generally, making a spring shorter will stiffen the spring.

Easiest example i can think of.. on full size race cars, If you start with a 650 spring, and you cut off one coil, it will end up being about a 750. When you make the spring shorter, it takes more to compress it an inch than it would with the longer spring.

Hello TSR6,

There is no altered on the spring in any ways. I would just like to know the differences among the two spring brand, see attached pictures--left is FiveStars, the other is Mugen. They are the same in length/height, have the same thickness. The only difference is the number of coils. Please advise.

Regards,

eddie
