Has anybody on here built their MTX3 yet??????

I tried to use an airbrush once........... Bloody waste of a body shell. I'll just stick to the spray cans. 2 colours, 3 at the outside.

Someone already got the kit!!!

Yes, the kit has already arrived. We received our shipment yesterday and it all went back out to the pre-order customers. We got a second batch coming in today and half of that is already sold too. So if you're still thinking about getting a MTX-3, you need to act fast ;) because at this rate, Mugen might run out of stock soon!

Can anyone tell me whether it has a rear ball diff or a gear one we heard its got a ball diff??

Bought my kit yesterday from Nitro House in Irvine, Ca. I bought the kit that includes the motor, kit cost me $519.00 (Price Match), their original price is I believe $541.00. Also Speed Tech has them for the same price I purchased mine.
I started building the kit last night, the kit comes w/front-one-way. The only down side is that they don't give you the complete assembly for a front gear diff, they give you the gear case and you have to purchase the internal gears and outdrives. I wasn't to happy with that. I feel for $519.00 they could of included the additional parts for the front diff. Other than that everything else appears to be going together pretty good. Here's something that's pretty good that a lot of people didn't know, the first 200 kits will come with the MT12 Turbo motor, I'm not sure of the name of the motor, but its the new Novarossi motor Mugen is pushing. I hear it is a real screamer. As soon as I find more time to finish the kit I'll post more information. I'm going to try and finish it this week and run it at Revelation Raceway this weekend.

RCfiend, If you meant the MR12, which im assuming you did, just letting you know, its not a turbo engine.

Colors!:cool: :nod: Alclad's chromes and prismatics, many color changing paints, and many many more plain old colors. Now they even have glow in the dark paints. Without an airbrush, you couldn't possibly get so many colors.
I'm trying to keep this short (its hard:lol: ) but you can also shade which is helpful for some geometric designs. you can also tint windows with much more ease. If you paint as many bodies as I hope to paint, within four years the cost of an airbrush + compressor + paints compared to just spraypaints, will be about even...but I will have sold some of my bodies to friends so I would be making some money so I would be coming out on top.
Another benefit is it dries quicker so you don't have to burn your hand with a blow dryer as much (also good for last minute paint jobs @ 12 at night). you also don't spray as much paint into the wind, wasting part of the spray cans $5 worth of paint. And with the precise control airbrushes have, your not going to have as much problems w/ paint bleeding under paintmasks.

I'm just about to get my MTX3.

What types of receiver batt. pack do I need?

Will a normal 5 cell nicad pack, same as the one for the MTX2 fit?

Will 'normal' foam tyres fit the MTX3, same wheels/tyres for the MTX2.

I'm thinking of getting some Ellegi tyres do I need to specify any 'offset' for the MTX3.

Will 30mm rear foam tyres fit?

Yes regular old five cell flat pack, 2mm off set wheels. 30 mm should fit, but you want the 2 mm offset wheels to bring your car to full width.

I blieve yokomo's 32 mm rears are offset by 2 mm, but you should verify with another post, and the previous posts.

So are active! The Zac are offset about 1mm

Calimassive, thanks for the correction, that was the motor that I was referring to. But I just finished speaking with Robbie Collins at Mugen and he said that the first 200 kits have been packaged with the Turbo MR12. I'll check mine tonight to verify that.;)
