i'm jealous of you all!

Does anybody know if the rear diff pulley is in the centre of the car, it looks it from the pics?

JordanC 11-13-2002 02:27 AM

Where does the receiver sit in the car, and can you use a micro receiver. Are the shocks internally different, or just a cosmetic change, and is the MTX3 as bloody fast as everyone says it is?

ME-student 11-13-2002 02:58 AM

yes, the rear diff is in the center...
the receiver is located on the right side of the throttle servo..
of course you can use a micro RX..
as for being fast or not.. you have to find out yourself...:D

of course you can use a micro RX..
Sorry, i meant "do you have to use a micro receiver"?

I've heard the top speed is about the same as the MTX-2, but that the cornering, stability, and acceleration are improved.

top speed is much faster as the front/rear pulley size has been reduced.

rear anti-squat is adjustable. i.e. faster cornering

i heard the internal ratio is the same and if you check mugenseiki home site and check under specs both cars have same first gear ratio and second is 5.71 mtx-2 and 5.43 mtx-3 i think

calimassive 11-13-2002 09:29 AM

Robbie Collins said the top speed seems to be about the same. He's a Mugen factory driver. That's just what I heard though, could be wrong. He mentioned cornering and stablility was much improved though over the MTX-2.

patelladragger 11-13-2002 09:48 AM

I thought Robbie Collins was a mugen employee who happens to race moreso than a mugen factory driver i.e. osaka.

Nytrochaos 11-13-2002 10:31 AM

as i said, i talked to mugen the other day, and when asking about the car, the guy i was talking to said that at the track he runs, his best lap ever was with an mtx-2 with a time of 17.8 (my numbers could be wrong, but its still the same idea) the first time he was going to dsrive his mtx-3, it rained at the track the day before....so the track was awful, yet he still pulled a lap time of 16.5.......this is amazing

the most exciting part about this is that his car was completely stock....this meens the included tires, springs, and shock oil and dif oil.......not only was it stock parts, but he kept his setup the way it comes out of the box.....he says it is on rails!!

not that ive been counting, but i get mine in 16 days!!

also, im at boarding school in newport Rhode Island, and my mom says i cant bring my car here........help me come up with a liable reason as to why i should be able to, and why it wont be a distraction.......HELP

Hi Guys,

Some of you been questioning if the kit is available yet, the answer is YES! :) :) We've been filling pre-orders for the past two days and we are completely out of stock right now. But we do have more coming in tomorrow from Mugen, we also added some specs of the kit on our website.

Also, after talking to Mugen this morning, spare parts should be available sometime this week or next week. And the word is Kawahara is already working on MTX-3 hop-ups and should be available very soon! :)

Yes the kit setup is right on the money, and as for the rear anti
blocks B-B is correct do not mix match the letters.

PS; I take back what I said about the straightaway speed being the
same, I changed to a 42 gear for second and the car had plenty of
straightaway speed.

WoW what a difference one tooth can make.
And yes this gear will be avalible.

stefan 11-13-2002 10:48 AM

Nytrochaos,

start paying you own bills and Mom won't have a saying.

Until then, follow orders, soldier!!
