mtx-3 prospec
Hi guys,
Can someone direct me to some good online articles for the MTX-3 prospec... I thought that mugenseiki.com had some good atricles but cant find it.. Anything you guys recommend except the stuff from a couple of posts above. Anyone of you guys race at SV speedway in California? I'm going to try to race but I need some good practice and advice...
Thanks

HarKonnenD,
The Prospec is good as is. maybe some gears and springs for setup purposes. No need for any of the extra aftermarket parts (the only one I have on my car is the Kawahara roll bar/handle). I would wait and take a good look at the MTX4 at this point in time though, Mugen does their homework when they release new cars.
Speed_Racer,
You are actually at the best place for information on this car. Mugen USA is helpful as well. And not to mention your local racers are an invalueable source of support and information. As far as hopups go, the Prospec doesn't need them and neither does the standard MTX3.

Thanks for the insite guys. I'm really looking forward to a prospec to try my Rody V12 in. I'm guessing it will be as fast as my CD3 pro if not faster since the car is light. Welp it's spektrum first and or MTX3prospec. However, buying a real car is what's really needed now and I will keep on the look out for one.

get the mtx3 prospec or the mtx4
the mtx3 does need universals, at $32 a set, go for the prospec or the mtx4!!!
plus the mtx3 prospec is mostly titanium, thicker more rigid chassis (same weight as standard 3mm) better gears, on and on its the best!
i like the prospec myself, and all the shops will have the mtx3 parts.

I think $28 bux should be the fair price.
I'm thinking to go downspec for economical reasons : Front dogbones and Rear universals. I'm not good driver...... I crash a lot and loss lots of Front universal and front uprights.

are you using the mugen front universals?? just thought i'd ask because i never had a luck with the other brands i haven't broke any mugen universals (knock on wood )
I try 3 racing front universals.... I don't suggest them, suxx metals. 10 sets gone !!!
I try original Mugen Seiki, it's okay but still bent if you hit too hard.
I'm using Kfactory universals now,....... if they are suxx too, I'm going to use just dog bones.

What would you prefer in the middle of a race? Bent universals or broken ones? Took me about 8 months of hard racing/crashing to just "bent" Mugen Universals. Took about 1 day to break any other brand.

and if u break a upright the universal with clamping hex hubs will keep all your parts from exploding all over the track!!!
