Novarossi RS-12 S3
or
Siro S12 TRP

I have one Sirio and It's a very good engine, piston/sleeve fit is tight (like RB) and performs very good (doesn't have the brute power of JP but my laptimes are 0.02 sec slower with Sirio vs. JP), they have several versions (3 or 4) the main differences are on the crank (turbo/no turbo) and the sleeve ports (3 - 5ports).

It's a good engine and cheap, next season I'll go with Sirio engines at my National series.

MTX2 solid axle on MTX3?

Does anyone knows if an rear solid axle for the MTX2 works for the MTX3? an LHS made me a good offer for one solid axle, but is for the MTX2.

Don't want to buy if I'm not sure that works for the new car.

jason102276 01-03-2003 06:02 AM

mtx-2 solid rear in mtx-3 i dont think it will work

novarossi i would think with a screen name like that you wouldnt even consider anything else

sirio seems to be a fast engine i have seen a few now and they sound like they are overreving when you goose the throttle they really have high rpms

i have seen the sirio 5 port and it looks like a killer engine

but you cant beat the reliability of novarossi engines in my opinion i am running a modded mr-12 now and its great

First outing

Hi Guys,

Had the MTX-3 out today for the first time.

The local track which is small & technical was wet & Icy.

Made for some interesting driving on foam tyres!!

Although I'm still heat cycling the engine my first impressions is that the 3 is very sure footed. It glides into corners & the rear was planted.

Who has stock of hop-ups for the 3? Kawahara etc?

Roll on the summer!

Ran the MTX3 yesterday for the first time (first time back racing in 9 months!)

Car handles really flat. Alot of potential.

Put me down on the list of the "Missing MTX3 Front Dogbone" group. I only noticed it was missing 1 day after I was cleaning the car - God knows how many heats I raced without it

sparksy 01-06-2003 02:59 AM

I bent one in a spectacular crash... that was the only damage.

I've since put uni's on the front. They are excelent, more steering lock to lock, and very well made.
