hey guys,

What gears do you guys run at long and large tracks? When my car hit the straight, the top speed just stays here The 1st gear the spur is 61 and 17t. 2nd gear is stock.

Ok I know this is the rrr thread, but the rr thread is dead. any ways I got the evo chassie and I'm running vone rrr rear up rights and 2 deg fronts knuckles, and I'm having a hell of a time with traction rolling.
car feels good in all the high speed sections but is giving me fits in slow speed corners, this is the strange part its going on during power on exit of the corners
set up is
shocks 60wt all four corners
gold springs up front, black in the rear
shockes lay all the way down both ends
1/2 toe out in the front
3 toe in on the rear
0 droop in the front, up stops set so chassie does not bootom out
1 droop in the rear, up stops set same as front
2 1/2 neg camber in the rear
2 neg in the front
37 shore all the way around
3 mm split on the tires
high traction surface.

drfritz that is strange. You are running pretty much my set on my Evo except that I still run the Evo uprights and front arms. It must be something easy. Did you just move to the newer arms and the problem started? I do run about 4 on the rear droop using a Hudy setup station. Any binding in the belts or rear diff?

I had the same thought , tore the car apart and found no problems, what strange is that every body else was saying the track was loose in those section so the kept putting vht down just adding to my problem, it was just two stupid corners that were giving me problems a quick right and right back to a lefty. (pork chop) it's has to be in the set up, car was real good till they did that. maybe more camber or more roll center in the back?

I guess if there isn't anything physically wrong with the car then it must be setup. You must be getting way to much bite. Your chassis must start rolling through that section and just keep going right through the up stops. If you tighten up the roll center I am sure that would help. Those rear up rights may have upset your rear roll center. This is an area that always seems to get people in a tizzy but to me 1 droop setting on the rear is going to allow a lot of movement of the chassis. I would try 3 or 4. The Evo is a great car. Its tough and doesn't eat parts. I am curios what size track you run on. PM me sometime.

The easiest fix could be running harder tires in front. Try 40 or even 42 in front and see if that works. On a VHT prepared track we run 42 or 45 in front with 42 in the rear.
