hey guys try these 2 setups 1 is from Paolo Morganti the 2nd MaxeyVelazco these setups were run at FtSpeedway at Kissimee track here in Fla. Paolo turned a 17.2 his car clocked at 60mph the only car that was faster was a 1/8 scale 64mph now that was insane.i stand by both these setups 150%.the only thing i dont run is a oneway i run solid axle in front my fastest 16laps 19.3 the back straightway is 250ft.do these setup to the tee an u will be amazed at the handling.P.s alittle traction compound on the rear tires wont hurt.D im almost there still hve more testing an reading to do.go towww.mytsn.com

2-speed one-way is good.

If the oneway bearing is OK, it could be the problem with something in the Centax clutch spring that is binding.
I've my 710 clutch dis-assemble right now. Yes, if you seeing from the top of spring, the top of spring is lean to one side a little. Spring body is not fully verticall.

We found the killer?

impalabob64, what else do you do besides putting the front solid axle? Do you do anything else to the setup?

setups

im using the Paolo setup he is the Region 4 champ here. i run this setup on short tracks also. if any i ajust the toein in the rear an i keep my ride height at 6mm all around . oh anther thing if u guys dont know the 710 loves to run with smaller tires trust me on that.it make the car drive more aggressive.oh again traction compound is my best buddy.

Yes...I normally run on a relatively short, tight track, but the first time I ran the REX motor I ran at the sugarbowl, which is a bigger, more sweeping track.

Most of the time, the plug choice affects fuel consumption. What are you currently using? Hot plugs consume more fuel than colder plugs.
I am running the #6 that came with the motor. I ran the motor yesterday at our East Coast TC cup (in a winning effort:) ) with only mild consumption problems. I'll play with some plugs next weekend to see the effects.

I just think that I need to finally lean the thing out:D !

My lap time is about 1 second slower than his :( What could be the problem? The only thing I didnt ask him was what oil and shock holes he used. I was thinking maybe it could be the downstops as well. Any help would be appreciated.
He might be running stiffer damping.

If car is fully stop, everything is good. Throttle on will make the clutch engage correctly, good punch. But when I leaving corner and put the throttle back on from free-roll, it won't engage. And in straight line, if I release the throttle in middle and put it back on right away. I can heard my engine running into higer RPM, but car speed gradually reduced, just like free-roll. The only way to make it re-engage is keep click on thrttole until lucky happen.

Nope, 2nd speed didn't kick in.

Really a strange problem. It feels like the spring push the shoe back in high RPM, makes it dis-engage even the RPM still remain the same high.

99% says it's the one way in the 1st gear slipping. Clean it with some brake cleaner and re-lube with one-way oil. It is not possible to check a one way just by feeling. The forces on it are completely different when the car is running.
