Spring Rate
 
Xtreme RC Cars did a test of many different types of spring and serpent was one of them. July 05 issue 118.

Front Springs First

Orange - 13.663 to 14.022 lb/in
White - 17.217 to 16.238
Yellow - 23.161 to 22.780
Red - 27.693 to 25.766
Blue - 32.068 to 32.128
Purple - 37.496 to 36.794

Rear Springs

Orange - 13.298 to 13.895 lb/in
White - 16.262 to 17.187
Yellow - 20.069 to 19.383
Red - 24.826 to 26.453
Blue - 26.386 to 27.887
Purple - 37.809 to 38.481

speaking of the springs, has anyone ever ran front springs in the back ? they're more progressive and sometime i feel i have more steering in the sweeper.

I like using the harder Centax II spring with flyweights cut and mounted in between the flywheel pivot pins. Clutch is more snappy.

Unless Pyramid or the other older guys like Mark and Julius found other ways while I was away... :smile:

I find the spacers look bad. I grind the plastic top part one mm thinner to get a little more clearance. I never broke a shock shaft. And yes I do crash sometimes (and when I do it's mostly big ones....) :sweat:

Yes, I think the mod (pushing the front shocks a little in the front) makes it more durable.

Anyway, you need longer screws to hold the front shock tower onto the bulkhead when you use spacers.

Front springs are shorter. How do you take care of this when you use it in the rear shocks?
