Thanks

You are only putting the washers under the FRONT of the block. So yes it will raise the front of the block. In effect rotating the top of the block towards the rear.

I didbt bother with it on my 835. I soaked the belts in WD40 to soften them up a bit and then run the car in till the drive train was nice and free.

Truck Body

I have to admit it's suprising as this seems to be a pretty big miss by Serpent. I might try what you are suggesting but just visualizing it it doesn't make sense to me, because you are trying to get the pulleys closer. By putting the washers under the block will change somewhat its height, but will not get it any closer to the rear pulley.

The weird thing is that I browsed through mytsn forum and haven't seen anybody saying anything about side belt tension.

Thanks

Because the washers are only under the front of the block you tilt it backwards a bit. That brings the pulleys closer together.

Oops, sparksky already mentioned that..

The top half is a seperate part and the bottom runs all the way to the front.

Yeah, I know... that will be really fun. In fact, this 17/JUL, we will be having a truck race with Protoform Ridez body.

If you wanted the Serpent one, we are more than happy to special order it for you @ the following (really) special prices,

SER-170027 Body Race Truck 200mm Rp. 290,000 (+-USD30).

Thanks guys. I know what you mean now. From some reason I was thinking about the pulley side as a front. My fault.

One more question. I've heard some people just leave it tight and the belt will stretch after a while. Would that be wrong to do as it might put some extra stress on bearings and drivetrain at the begining?

Thanks again.

Can anyone tell me the retail price for a serpent 705? I think that's the car I am looking for to race.

WHy wold you want to race that instead of the 710? Especially paying retail price...

j03s4y 06-30-2005 10:21 AM

Probably because it's cheaper and I've read theres not much difference?

A 710 goes for like $400 kit price.... :(

the 710 is a much better car. it is way more advanced. the 705 would not compete with the 710, mtx-3, rrr, etc.

705 is FAR (really far) from being the same as 710.....and I am not sure where did you find the $400 kit price....most of the online store (even some LHS) are around $350....

Sounds to me that someone is thinking more of the Impulse and the 705 which where pretty much the same car. 710 is a completely different animal .Totaly in another class compared to the other 2 !!!!

New_Toasted 06-30-2005 01:47 PM

I used to run an Impulse Pro, and when I changed to the 710 I noticed that I actullay drove better than I've thougt :)
