Profox....try using Twister tires. It's a dish style rim that's very strong. It's perfect for the 710 to prevent the rubbing. The distributer is local in your area and is usually at Go Racing or Coral Springs track. There's actually a big money race in Naples FL this weekend that's sponsored by Twister Tire.

Sorry for the loss. What pipe were you using? Shark? Shit happens and when you're in the final, somethings everything else blocks out...

It was the Nova old style pipe, forget the number. Yeah long finals are kinda hard on motors!

gear ratio Q

Just curious about the 1st gear final ratio. I wonder why serpent want the default 1st gear final ratio at 6.618? is this the near perfect ratio for harder accelaration? or should i go higher to 7.031(16/60)? am using Max. Please advice. thanks.

Depends on your track. But the idea about shifting from one ratio to the next after changing to 2nd gear is to keep the ratios as close as possible. On big 1:1 cars, you also want to keep the gear ratios as close as possible so that the engine RPM stays about constant after changing gears. That's the beauty about the newer 0.8 module gearing. You can go with wide ratios without bogging the engine down because it is more efficient.

Serpent usually gives pinion and spur that is in the middle. (17T instead of 16T or 18T, 22T instead of 21T and 23T, 56T instead of 55T and 57T and 60T instead of 59T and 61T) to cater for most tracks.

How do you like the HARD 2503 1-pc inline pipe? Is this pipe/header combo similar to Cvec pipes? and is is it possible to purchase just the pipe itself and does the pipe have to be used with a HARD header??

thanks Jason

I am glad that you have learned from your error, the worst thing is when someone (me) doesn't learn from the first time and tries it again... the budget then needas a budget.

Got hit in the pipe side in a corner and unknown to me my pressure return line got severed. I continued to drive it and felt the bottom end go soft, then really soft (crankshaft overheat). About 1 minute later goodbye Rody. Engine was totalled only thing salvagable was the carb. I did not listen to what the engine was trying to tell me
Oh man... i feel for you... that is a bad one... can you show us pics? I think I must open a thread Called... RC Banged-up... could be like a sick RC porn thread, showing the damagesd internals and all...

Probably if you mailed late on friday, you won't get a response until today at the earliest - they don't process orders (and I assume emails, too) between friday afternoon and tuesday morning.

Cheers, Mark.

I never shot any pics since I did not want to be reminded :D I actually sold it on eBay!! I also blew a rod on a OS TR and did similar damage. I never worked out why that motor let go. Sold it on eBay too!
