It is lucky that there was some castor in that fuel, a sythetic will have burned off and the piston and liner will have been scoured Badly and could have been thrown away. the castor under high heat conditions tends to become a tacky (for lack of a better word) and sticks to the piston and sleave, protecting it from scraping. that is normally what that brown sludgy stuff is on the piston after an overheat... PHEW...

Voodoo_Magic, I must admit, you worked some magic there, Now what you so is lube it up, The the engine rather sloppy, not quite dripping, but well lubed, then put it back together carefully, once it is together, and use a medium plug then put it in the car or in ur run in bench. then warm it with a hair dryer or a heat gun, then crank it and follow my guide from earlier, and let us know, you should be well on your way.

True..
I mean, if the brown colour is taken off already and the piston surface is still have a rough surface. That is a problem.

Voodo,
the piston is still good, watch the polished part on the side of piston (upper part). Is the polished part reach the upper-part of piston pin hole alredy?

The piston does not go all the way up to the top if thats what you mean by hand anyway

I thought as much. If it is rough anywhere on the side og the piston there is a problem. One can get scratches in the sleave and in on the piston. I hade a 2 stroke that we bored to 4 microns bigger than the piston without the compression rings. I put the motor together (WITH THE GREATEST OF DIFFICULTY) and geared it for run-in, (a bike) I neglected to check the bearings, The motor motor would lift the bikes front wheel when you hit the powerband... WOW it had power, it was a 50cc. but it develloped a strange vibration... the bigend had sent bits into the cylinder... the bore and the piston were finished... replaced all this, and started again... I was caught by the police doing 143.1Km/h up a slight hill... What a machine...... I cant remember my point now... oh yes... the scratching, if there is a scratch, the is a problem, and a big one at that.

This is a good thing. remember to warm the motor before you try to start it or turn it over, remember that the engine has already been stressed, and you want to relieve it by heat cycling it, but warm it so that it isn't as stressfull on the conrod and crankpin.

Ha ha ..
For your bike.. lighten crankshaft and cut the permanent magnet down to its smallest size will make another difference but no more uphill.

Thank you, I went and leaned it so beautifully... but then the autolube pump started to play havoc and I seived the motor, so I sold it and said... NO MORE BIKES... only RC Cars...

Can you get a pic of the scratch, it may not be too bad, but it may be a killer.
