Cold weather and plastic parts

Ofna recommends boiling the suspension arms 2 hours (for their buggies) to get them more "flexible" and less inclined to cracking in cold weather hits

That was regarding many complaints of fragile plastics on the hyper7 this past winter. (And I can tell you that Hyper7 is anything except fragile!!)

Hi group, I am a newbie to nitro RC cars and just bought my first nitro kit a week ago (710). I have a couple of questions which may seem trivial, so excuse my lack of knowledge. I have an OS 12TR-T motor and am just trying to finish off the assembly correctly now before I run the car.

1) the spacing between the pinion gears (along the axis) and the spacing between the spur gears is quite different - is this correct or did I put the spur gears together wrong? I put in the spacer between the 2 pioion gears, but it still looks like it could use an additional 3-4mm. If this is correct, which gears should line up - the low gear set or the high gear set or in between?

2) I could not get the clutch gap to get to .7mm, even with a .3mm shim on the crank, the gap is at about .4mm, I have done the clutch mod that cuts the weights down and takes them off the posts.

3) The front belt appears to be quite slack in the default cam position - about 4mm deflection in the middle - is this too loose?

Thanks, There's a great wealth of knowledge here, I hope someone can help me out. I'll let you know how my first outing goes when the weather turns around here in a couple of weeks (hopefully!)

Hey Dan i ran my 710 with the os.tr and you will be happy how that car runs, y car is one of the fastes in the infield. That motor has soo much low end punch. It lacks a little bit on the top -end.

Anybody know if this pipe will fit the 710 OFN10066? Does anyone know if its any good? I can get a good deal on one and I won't have to wait for it to come from out of town. But if its no good then I'll get a Rossi pipe.

Not entirely true. Other than the 710, the kits released were just an upgrade of the existing kit.

Does anyone here not get a new kit after 12 months of racing anyway? New model released or not, its damn hard not to need a new one and you would spend more on parts to replace worn pieces that the kit would cost.

Both KO and Futaba are a good radio. Myself found futaba has stronger signal by turning both radio on and glithces less than the KO. We do not use much of Sanwa as somehow, OVERHERE, has the weakest signal and glitches the worst.. This is kind of remind me of excuses people use when not winning the races on some reports on the net :)

Most manufacturer are like that including those G4 that will we out with new 3mm chassis and those aluminum steering servo saver as well as rail will be included at no addtional cost. Should be release by end of April I guess. Not to mention those K factory option for rear belt tensioner and middle bearing block that has been updated on design.. all the same.. must make money to survive.
