From the looks of it, there will not be any space to fit the Impact rear floating mount.:(

I guess like what Goldfinger suggested is you could probably use the 705 as a dedicated car with Lola shell while the 710 for TC...

I am starting to wonder the validity of these pics... They seem a little rough for Serpent's standards perhaps taken from a cheap digicam. Well, come to think of it, not all can afford a D1 ! :D

Anyway, what does your source say Schrijver99? Does the 710 indeed come with a laid down throttle servo like the 950R?

Schrijver99 11-07-2003 06:48 AM

will ask tonight!

The pics came from Serpent.Lee the owner of winner circle told me he had to change the size of them to post them on his website so the clarity isnt as good as the orig.He got the pics and specs so we the consumers could know whats going on!

I deal with Lee on all my Gas related things hes been in the nitro businees and selling Serpent among others for yrs,He always has the parts Ive ever needed and if not Id have them by the end of the week so some of yall who are looking for a hobbyshop that has all the Serpent parts contact him(Lee) He even has a toll free number to call and he knows his business Great guy to talk to.

From we can see, looks there is no possible way to mount laydown style for throttle servo.

I think the rear 'active' toe in will be great, this I really have gotta see, so now RC cars are into so called 'active' technology.

Good to see that there will be a new Centax, the current one on a 705 feels a little sluggish to me.

Active in 200mm is not new. Although it was first used in 1:8th on-road in the mid 90's, I have been working on this for well over a year in 200mm and to be honest I believe the only reason Serpent went with this path is because they heard that another company was producing it for the Winter Nats and they are still sore about getting their asses well and truely whipped by BMT in the 90's when they failed to produce it for there cars back then.

After looking at the 3 pivotball hub carrier design incorporated in the new Serpent I will say that I believe they have messed up the design once again and the car will again be heavier than really need be. To have the whole wishbones and hubs moving to create the active toe requires a lot of extra parts which just add weight.

Looking forward to the Winter Nats.

I believe my system is more sound and

Hey modellor, not to sound too optimistic, I believe the 710 will indeed be lighter than the present car. I would think Serpent would knock themselves in the head if they designed a car which would be heavier than their present. Think about it... Where would they put their face if the 710 is an inferior car to the 705? How do you expect a big company such as Serpent to put out a lemon when they have a big overheads to sustain themselves? I believe they cannot afford another Veteq. If they fail on this one, I can bet that you'll see the fall of Serpent for sure.

We can speculate all we want now and in the course of these two weeks, we'll look back and see how right or wrong we are about the car.:D

That is true............
The only other 200mm car with a laydown throttle servo style is the G4 witch dosn't have a lot of room for large or medium receiver.
