hey guys -

I was told to ask this here - can be Impulse streetspec still be competitive at club races? Any parts out there that would really improve performance?

Thanks

Yes you can, but you will need to be good, and also be good finding spare parts.

Yes, the Impulse can be competitive but compared to the latest generation cars, it is a little heavier. I used to run the car with Al. screws (or titanium if you can find them) and ceramic bearings. There's a few other things to do too if you want to be really competitive but that's another topic.

The Al screw were the Serpent Veteq ones. I don't know if anyone still sells them.

There are many online shops that sell ceramic bearings but bocabearings.com have them by set, there was one for the Impulse/705 but I've not checked recently.

thanks for the help sow...but, if i'm reading that right, its $400 for the set, which would be a new 710 wouldn't it?

I'm probably not good enough to even notice a difference now, I'll just run the Impulse and maybe pick up another cheap roller for parts and see where it goes from there

hell, if I bought the 710 now the 720 will be out next month

That's the premium ones, the normal ceramic ones are about $200 ... these are the one I use.

I just notice when I turn the front tires to the right, the servo arm is hitting the radiotray plate. Did I do something wrong
