If you race, I really don't recommend using an on-off switch.

On my "play" car, I use shoe-goo and mount the switch on its side right at the front of the upper-deck, above the bearing that hold the steering column.

Is there a good reason not to put a switch on your car?
Or is it just "cool" ....like high-tech-low-weight pedals in a normal streetcar??

The reason for many not to put a switch in, is the fear of the switch being turned off in a coming together with another car/marshal
This could lead to a run-away and a lot of damage.

is there an aftermarket carbon fiber lower chassis plate for the 710?

Guys, there was a mod to the front shock tower brackets that was on here a while back. I have the 3 racing alum ones - if I remove 1.0mm from the mounting face, will that align the shocks in a vrtical position? Or can I take more off - 1.5mm? As I understand it, this mod is to reduce the shock shaft breakage in a crash when the arm flexes backward, but the shock hits the CF tower and snaps the shaft - right?

Also, Paolo had a mod to the rear shock mounting, which has the lower mount made out of a portion of the front CF shock tower bolted to the arm, changing the geometry and the upper shock mount is mounted on the back side of the rear tower. Is this supposed to make the rear shocks vertical or what else? I am going to be running the new RCC shocks, and the gear diff on the car this season. Does anyone have details on how to do this mod and what effects it has on the car?

The real benefit of this chassis is that you'll have a lower center of gravity due to the machining that enables all the chassis mounted parts to be attached lower in the chassis. This in turn means with similar ride height, the car will have more ground clearance and in turn will allow the car to be driven with 2mm smaller diameter tires. The base of the chassis is has been chamfered along its edges and sports an engraved Serpent logo and countersunk holes throughout. Comes complete with brake plate pins.

Still aluminium but aluminum is also great for heat distribution.

I know a friend who bought it because the price difference between a stock & optional is very little (he crashed his chassis )

I hope they make the new car sronger. You would think that since they had a connection with Xray the would have some spring steel on the car like the swing shafts for instance. You don't even have to tap the wall hard and they bend or break. While I see the Mugens and kyoshos slam the walls and keep going. Most of us with Serpent around this area have problems finishing long mains due to the car being so brittle. I don't like running dog-bones in the front but they seem to be the strongest.
