Re: Re: Re: Flexi Shock Mount/Rear Gearbox cover
Originally posted by dtm Yes, thats right, if you attempt to twist the rear shock tower (left hand side backwards, right hand side forward v/v) then you will see the flex on the rear gearbox upper cover. I'm not so sure that the car will not see this....if one shock is loaded and the other is not ie. going around a corner, then the shock tower will see a similar twisting effect. What you effectively end up with is the rear shocks are softer...but this softness is not entirely controlled by the springs. In most cars...you would try to have the most rigid platform to mount the shocks so that all the suspension work is done by the suspension and not but the unpredictable gearbox flex. Anyway, time will tell...if Serpent does not modify this area with options then we will all know it is part of the design.:D |

Originally posted by sparksy Have you seen the xtal extestions? Basically they are just a short wire that plugs into the RX and you then have the xtal plugging into the end of it. I'll find a pic. But if you got your hands on one, you might be able to trim the section of the reciever that wraps around the xtal. That way you should be able to turn the rx around and allow it to be closer to the mount, without the xtal hitting the servo. http://www.ozshops.com/shops/radio/u...ur//eur469.jpg |

Re: Re: Re: Re: Flexi Shock Mount/Rear Gearbox cover
Originally posted by Julius The shocks force is in an up and down movement. They create a pull/push on the tower. Take the car and roll it sdeways like in a corner. You won't see a twist in the tower. That could happen if the tower itself would flex. That is why it is made as thick as it is. |
Originally posted by GoldFinger ... you forgot something, D Master Builder is out there. Just PM him, he will be honoured to fix it for you. In less then 3.... ...months   (nice style by lawndoggie:D ) When it's fixed, ill post it here with some pics for the people with the same problem!:p ;) |
Originally posted by GoldFinger Sorry if Im trailing off. I do wait for the KHM too... But here is the fact, that Serpent is release the SS version (to catch up to the NS technology) in less than 3 month right after they releasing the MCP version(still base on RS). So I think they will not releasing the KHM shortly. Beside that the RR(long stroke) is coming.. Thanks for the info m8 :D |
Weights
Just for information, I took the liberty to check the boxes for their weight labellings...
Serpent Impulse PRO - 2.445 kg Serpent 705 - 2.275 kg Serpent 710 - 2.3 kg Perhaps the 710 box is heavier than the rest since the car is much lighter. |

Serpent Impulse PRO - 2.4 kg Serpent 705 - 2.3 kg Serpent 710 - 2.3 kg So? :D All it means is you are paying for almost twice the weight of the car.... (without engine and radio the car is probably close to 1300g) Don't know if that makes it cheap or expensive though ;) |

Just a guess: In most manufacturing processes that run by some sort of QC system, (i.e. ISO 900X), they require batch tracability. In case a problem is discovered with the prouct during or after it is produced, there is a means to trace the product by batch number so that the problem can be corrected.
