I have to wait for another 2months or so...

Sorry if Im trailing off.
I do wait for the KHM too...
But here is the fact, that Serpent is release the SS version (to catch up to the NS technology) in less than 3 month right after they releasing the MCP version(still base on RS).
So I think they will not releasing the KHM shortly.
Beside that the RR(long stroke) is coming..

The only thing that i hope is that crystal does not touch the throtle servo..
Thanks;)

Have you seen the xtal extestions? Basically they are just a short wire that plugs into the RX and you then have the xtal plugging into the end of it. I'll find a pic. But if you got your hands on one, you might be able to trim the section of the reciever that wraps around the xtal. That way you should be able to turn the rx around and allow it to be closer to the mount, without the xtal hitting the servo.

I need to pick myself up a pair of those! Perfect for quick changes!

it might not be a good idea, just imagine all those extra interference got picked up by the two long wires.

I did use this thing on my 1/8 buggy where i had to seal the receiver. The interference was not too bad tho !

Dont see how it would... tha areial recives the signal, not the crystal.

I guess you hold the chassis down and with the other hand tried to pull the shock tower backward or twist it.

That force is never on the shock tower. What you are doing does not happen during driving so it is not an issue.

I have never seen the HPI car you mention so I don't know what the problem with that car is.

Yes, thats right, if you attempt to twist the rear shock tower (left hand side backwards, right hand side forward v/v) then you will see the flex on the rear gearbox upper cover.

I'm not so sure that the car will not see this....if one shock is loaded and the other is not ie. going around a corner, then the shock tower will see a similar twisting effect.

What you effectively end up with is the rear shocks are softer...but this softness is not entirely controlled by the springs.

In most cars...you would try to have the most rigid platform to mount the shocks so that all the suspension work is done by the suspension and not but the unpredictable gearbox flex.

Anyway, time will tell...if Serpent does not modify this area with options then we will all know it is part of the design.:D

oh, i wasn't talking about the signal from the tx, i was talking about the base frequency that is generated by the crystal. if that frequency was ever contaminated, the PLL in the u-processor will never function properly and cause problem. and if it does work without any problem, i am not going to agrue about it.

People put to much into the "hand twist" test.

Maybe.....but when I went from 1 rear shock tower to 2 rear shock tower sandwich on my Xray....to reduce the flex. I noticed the difference in handling........

CHECK THIS OUT!

Most parts' prices are less than half of what they were for the 705!

Tried that years ago-didn't like it.

I tried this crystal extension years ago- I think in either my old Serpent Veteq or an older Impulse Pro. I didn't much care for it. I lost the reciever crystal a few times as it seemed to me that the fit of the crystal in the adaptor was a little bit loose.

you should have the yellow cap on the crystal and the crystal will stay in place
