If u know what your doing and know what to look for, then it's a great car.

Hello everyone, I state that they are in Italy, and even I, with the machine box and the new chassis and the whole bench, I had not broken the 2nd gear ..... but .......
in the last few months I found myself running on a very technical track and with much traction in these conditions and I broke as many as 3 crowns of the 2nd gear and every time I had to abandon the race due to lack of crowns.
I guarantee you that the car I keep it to perfection in all its parts, and now I think the shut in a drawer to go back (SOB) to the Xray.
as regards the folding of the frame I solved by moving the brake linkage above that of the gas in order to have the brake that work in push .... now restrains fine without kinking to the frame (see facebook Mugen MTX5).

sorry for my english, made with google translator :-)
bye

So maver, do you think the problem has to do with the twisting of the chassis on high traction ? Or the composition of the gears not being able to handle the stress associated with high traction ? Do you use a brace?

too bad some are still having issues stripping 2 speed gears
im on my 4 spur since I bought the car when It came out
and ive stripped those due to worn and overused pinions, heck I still
have old version gears! and no flex chasis whatsoever, so far
we have trackside chasis and shimos knack one that I see it as
the ultimate solution to prevent chasis flex!

google English is not bad it is as good as mine and I have to use spell check all the time hope you find the problem we don't have that much traction to do any damage pinions last 12 months of racing in Brisbane//aus

Is there a newer version of this car coming out in the near future by chance?

;) possible and the rumors say it will come out ...... we'll see.

the problem I had it only on a particular track, very technical with gear changes very fast and with a lot of traction .... in other tracks all goes' well.
my car 'with all the latest original parts mugen no tie.
I noticed that a lot depends on the type of clutch spring and how much you screw the ring, I am always convinced that it is not a matter of strength, but of heat (mixed torsion) in my opinion looking at the crown route is not sheared but purr.
who has the problem I propose to make the clutch with these measures:
gate locked by the book or at most 0.3 below.
bell play maximum 0.4
game final bell 0.1 maximum 0.2.
box spring.
to next race :)

I see that the original clutch spring is too soft. Also loses tension fast. Right now I'm using the mugen ultra hard for the 1/8

The MTX5 clutch is a bit of a mixed bag, it's actually too hard with too much slip for some applications, and not enough slip for other higher power use, I have two motors where mine has never been that great, one low spec limited HP 12TG, where it just slips, and a 353-08 where it actually bites too hard at low rpm.

I guess this is the downside of really there being no choice of clutch shoe on the car, or lesser choice of spring, though I know you can run the harder springs.

NITTO550 09-19-2013 04:00 AM

Right now I see 3 types of clutch springs. Hard, super hard and ultra. I like to tighten that spring until it slips THEN back off a bit. Clutch is always awesome! The problem with the second gear stripping is that the shifting has to be set later never early , especially on a technical track. If that motor goes straight into second coming out of a turn , it will strip. The clutch is actually aggressive .

Give us the mugen part no for these springs...

Thanks
