Greg, We are still racing over here. Seems like I have the only mugen now. A lot of people dropped it for the X. Also seems like I had the only one that works, everyone I know was still fighting with gear stripping. I really don't see what the problem is. I can run with or without a brace.

I don't get it either. I stripped my second gear the first day out after building the car 4 months ago. I then read horror stories on the forums. So I bought 4 extra 2nd gears, reinstalled the engine carefully and haven't stripped a gear since. And I too, run without a brace. So I'm not sure if some of us "me included" are not careful in assembling the car or maybe some faulty manufacturing went on at mugen. Either way, I like the car a lot

A lot of people are not paying attention to detail. The chassis will bend if you have too much throw on the brake lever especially without a brace. But I only need enough brake to slow the car , not lock the wheels. It's a great car!

we run a brace have had one from the start we put one of tracksides braces on and have no troubell ///but we still bend the chassi plate after the back of the brace even with the servo not beaing very strong have a mtx4r and has never had new plate we are trying a evo plate for NATS so we will see if it bends as well we had about 10 sets of gears when we got car but onley change them when we change pinions//titles
bailey loves mtx5 but likes the 1/8 mrx4x mutch better

Good luck Rich , but man it's getting cold Quick....

NITTO550 09-09-2013 07:50 AM

We really didn't have a summer, 10 days of 90 degree weather and that was it. Port Jervis will feel like an ice box come time for the regionals. But I'll do my best to represent !!
