I know there's some great suggestions in this post. But I'll be damned if I can read it. Just a little sentence structure would really help you share your experience.
Meant with the utmost respect.

Awww man, that was classic!!! Must let everyone that might be wondering, Greg doesn't speak that way at all...

Anyway...

Our MTX5 pinion tips wore out. Our MTX4R tip would wear from a dirty track and wear pinions early. When using a new pinion, we replace the spur gears at the same time.

A smooth 2nd gear change is important. If 1st gear isn't long enough you get a harsh 2nd shift or you shift mid corner and you can strip both gears at the same time. To make sure gears are not rubbing together, separate them by using a spacer to move the bearing.

The thrust bearing retainer (black bit) was drilled off center on some of the kits that arrived in Queensland. Also check your engine mounts and ensure they are parallel and aligned and grease your out-drives, I think that is why ours seized.

When you get the car setup well, it's a good car.

hi on our 5 pinions wore out /2 a point and this damages plastic gears //on 4r it dos not mater as much if your track is dirty you will wear out pinions early but make sure you change pin//and gears at one time smouth 2 gear change is important not to much 1 gear//to long at our track and you get 2 hard or it changes in corner and you get 2 gears at once //striping 2make sure gears or not rubbing together move bearing or space with washer black bit on end of clutch was drilled of conter on some of the kits in QLD //look at engen mounts 2 see if they are parrell been some of them when you get it all right car will be good ///make sure you grease out drives i think that is what is making our diffs to tight greg
Love your work G :)

Why i ask you:rolleyes:
When is it used ?? When i measure the clutchgap it is without endplay shimms.
When i measure the clutch in the car it only measures the endplay wich is between 0,1 and 0,15 mm so this tool is only used with the engine out off the car i asume. Racers do measure before a final but remove the rear bearing and the endplay simms, but the average racer will not do that i think.:sneaky:

Hi guys, good news from me! Racing whole day and not even a sign of second gear stripping. My solution was to put 2x0.1 shims between the first and the second gear spurs and threadlock on engine screws under the chassis :tire: And a handy tip from a racer on our local track - adjust your your second gear to engage five to ten meters after you leave the turn before the straight.

Has anybody tried mounting a Sirio Nemesis on the MTX5?

Need some advise from those who had.
I can't seem to clear the carb.. Am thinking the only way is to shave the tank in order for the carb to be fully open.

Any ideas?

djiewie 05-02-2012 01:17 AM

Maybe turn the carb a little
