Just putting the finishing touches on my new 5, and was wondering if anyone knows what is the max size I can cut the front windshield vent to?

Is giving up downforce and getting more airflow by cutting the largest allowed hole ALWAYS better? Or do you guys ever cut a little smaller hole to gain downforce?

actually i do. I have been cutting them down to about 52mm but really can't tell a difference....maybe someone else has better experience with this

It's been suggested you actually get more cooling from your side windows, than the front one, likewise some of your air flow comes from under the car as well.

Eh, sometimes this board has crazy lag, everything I seem to post lately seems to time out at some point...

djiewie 03-20-2012 01:14 AM

i believe the regulations differ from 50 mm to 60 mm.
I cut as small as possible to get downforce, but you have to use the 5`th post in the front middle. I also only cut the right side window and leave the left as it is. I think it allows/gets more top speed.
