Raced this thing against the new xrays, serpent, kyosho's last weekend. This was my first club event in years. The car was quick enough to get me to the a main. However my old nova mt12 just didnt seem to have the top end to get me in the top 3. Overall, I am very impressed with how competitive this car still is for me.
I was almost hoping to do poorly, as to have an excuse to by new equipment. Maybe soon..

Motor's have come a long ways since I was gone. I spread the gearing out to a 6split, a bit more motor and itll probably keep up on the straights. The infield is not a problem as of yet. It still rides on rails.

I assume you are using the white diff gears? If your using the black gears, switch to the whites. If you are using the whites then that sirio must have gobbs of power. I remember reading somewhere that with those real powerful motors, the most you can run is a 5tooth split without compromising diff gears. 5 split sounds wierd I know, I think they were running a 6 split on the tranny and 5 split on the pinions. It sounds goofy, but it is supposed to mesh well.

I refuse to go through and look at 620 pages for an answer, so I'll just ask it. Does the Ver 2 run/handle better than the Ver 1?

Mine is a version one, and luckily I havent had any crashes with it yet. I've considered making the change but havent really had a purpose to yet

Hi, I use JLR, no much problems with stripping gears, I use 54/48 and 20/26 or 21/27. Good shimming and before run I allways apply PTFE lubricant spray into gear box. It helps to me. Generaly I change gears 1 time in a season - about 10-12 one day races per year - and not cause of strip but they are worn.

I just swapped ver 1 out and installed ver2. Overall, it just makes more sense. It is sturdier. If you hav'nt had the pleasure of the rear toe linkage popping of from being rear ended or hitting the wall, then keep ver 1 until you do, and you will appreciate it more.

..............The Ofna LD-3 has steel diffs and they will fit on a Nitro -TC3 no more stripped gears. I put a big block .28 in my TC-3 and was stripping diff gears all the time until I replaced the associated diffs with the LD-3.
