Manticore- I spoke to Jet- Max tonite.....asked him to get spur gear 40T and 44T......he reckons they should be available in a few days. Will give me a call...you definately need to buy...brings the ratio down enough for PYC......

40/44 works very nice, gives you more snap at the bottom end, with 2nd gear still hitting like someone kicked the back of the car. Unfortunately, I haven't ordered the 15 tooth pinion yet. I'm actually running a 5 tooth spread for just a bit more on top (16/21, 44/39) with my OS and it makes a world of difference

Yes...the ratio should be better for a small/medium track that we run....unfortunately the largest gears the distributer has go in is the original 38/42...thats why I told them to order me some more options.....

It should work for bigger tracks too depending on your motor. I had a 16/21 and 42/37, which still accelerated hard at the end of the 250ft straight, causing me to overshoot the corner quite a few times, but was very slow out the corners. Bumping the ratio is much better in 1st gear and doesn't seem to loose too much in 2nd
