Xray releases the NT1R, a cheaper version of the NT1.
Just like the electro R version it has fiberglass parts instead of carbon fibre.
It was already rumored to be released at the start of this year, but now it has finally been released.

For me this confirms that the NT1 is EOL, and that we can expect a NT2 somewhere in 2010

is there anyone in the DC/VA/MD area who has a good working knowledge of the NT1 platform that can lend a helping hand?

I know it depends on running gear but roughly how much weight do you guys have to run on the left side of the chassis for it to be balanced left to right

Only 10 grams for me.
Cars 50grams underweight so I've got 30 on the exhaust side (where the three holes in chassis are) and 20 under the throttle servo.

Last time I checked my car I was about 120 grams underweight or more, cant remember. I had about 50 grams where the 3 holes are in order to balance the car left and right. I added the rest of the weight With the lipo tray and the Xray weight that goes under the tank.

Wow i must be using a heavy steering/throttle servo and receiver. I've had to put over 100g on the left side where the three holes are just to get left/right balance. Either that or i'm doing something wrong

With normal equipment you should be in the range of 50 grams to balance the car.

Are you using the hudy pins to balance the chassis?.
And have your setupboard set absolutely true?. (Can't think of the proper name of the device to measure it. The thing with the air bubble in it. :D

With two low-profile servos, no receiver cover i only have to put the lipo regulator and the transponder on the left side to balance the car.

No i'm not using the hudy balancing pins, i actually made my own. My 08 model was around the 50g mark but my 09 needed almost twice as much

And i just put my set up board on my dining room table, i suppose i should double check it with a spirit level before i go placing lead everywhere:nod:

Anybody tried the CSO carbon fiber chassis ? Pros and cons ?
Too much flexibility and lack of engine heat transfer are really concerns ?

I wouldn't use it for racing on a track... For drag racing or just trying to make your car as light as possible, it's a good option to put on. All your concerns are very accurate though.
