Default .3 Setup

Running an upgraded .3 with default setups except the following:
*10-15-7 diffs
*2mm in front of rear hub instead of 3
*1 deg of anti-squat

In 180s, I'm getting mid-corner/exit push - push on-power. Also, coming out of corner onto straight, I sometimes get some fish-tailing.

I will increase the shim in front of the rear hub to 3mm. Kind of lost as to what to try next if that doesn't work. Seems like more anti-squat will help straight, but hurt on 180 exit push. Lowering roll center seems like it will help 180, but hurt coming out corner onto straight.

Side note - 180 is a faster turn than the turn onto the straight.

Default Camber Links

If the inside and outside holes on the tower were at the same height, would running inside hole on tower and inside hole on hub be the same as running outside hole on tower and outside hole on the hub (camber link should be approximately be the same length)? Just wondering if shifting the camber link in or out has any effect?

Great weekend out for the Tekno NT48.3, I was lucky enough to clear out on the field in the first lap leading the race from start to finish with the rest of the field battle out for the podium positions, Great to have the Tekno truggy finish 1st & 2nd at this years Queens Cup Truggy Event here in Melbourne, Australia, the new car drives fantastic and it is fast and reliable, well done Tekno Rc

Hey guys i've been running tekno e's for awhile and thinking about jumping into a 'n' Was thinking of starting out in Truggy, but i'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to nitro and i'm planning on helping others pit and what not over the next few months and maybe pick up a kit for my xmas present to my self (or tax refund)

So if you could bare a few noob questions I would appreciate it. Mainly looking for ideas as to choosing an engine. Size, number of ports, plug type, etc. is all foreign to me. I'm thinking i'll want something with max torque as i'm used to electric, but that is also easy to tune for a beginner and/or common enough where other racers would be familiar and able to help me out easier.

So any tips or links to videos or other good sources of information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

watch what is most common with the other racers in your area. If you get what they run, they will be more willing to help with the tuning and adjustments. There are a lot of good motors out there right now.

The Triton L5 with 2120 pipe is perfect for truggy.

Not sure what your budget is.

Thanks. Decided to stiffen up the rear, yellow springs and 2.8 sway bar (easier change than the diffs and closer to Joe Bornhorst's setup). No more push. May try the orange springs and see how they work.

I got a chance to run the NT48.3 for the first time this past Saturday. What a treat it was! It was easy to drive and the brakes stayed consistent through the whole race. My lap times improved 2 1/4 seconds faster than my previous race fastest lap with the D8T and 3 1/4 seconds faster average lap times. Box stock set up with Delrin shock internals.

Glad to hear your happy thus far with your kit! Those are some major lap time drops from just switching kits.

Yes i'm very happy with it. I'll still get lapped by the top guys and that's OK. Racing my own race and beating myself makes me happy. Haven't had a chance to race my NB48.3 but i think i'll have similar results.

Anyone having problems with the bearing in the clutch bell? Running a OS .28 engine and the clutch bearing dont last two runs.
