Default Xray/Serpent Center Diff

Savagesam, did you add shims to the center diff between the bearings and cup and bearings and spur gear? I'm assumming that's where the shims need to be. I haven't had any issues yet, but just in case. Also, are you using Tekno or Xray internal diff gears? Thanks.

I use a complete X-ray centre diff, cup, gears, spur and out drives, I run 2 shims between the centre diff mount plastic and the bearing at each end, so 4 shims all up, I tried running the shims behind the bearing on the diff side but the out drives had a fraction of bind on the bearing, easier to just slide the outer race shims into the plastic then feed the diff through, cheers, been running it for 9 months with next to no wear.

The biggest plus is running the X-ray cup gives you the tuning options of Spurs that fit straight on, 46,48,50 so you can gear up or down with out any issue

Ok here is some footage of the first few laps running the M2C chassis on my current truggy set up, I just changed the stock chassis out and installed the M2C chassis including the 3 piece motor mount and headed to the track. I really like the way the truggy feels very precise with the chassis change, some set up tuning to follow in the coming weeks.

All Canadians that own a Tekno please join here... I'm just trying to get an idea of the number of Tekno owners.

I was curious folks running the chassis, is it needed to run both braces? Are the ones running it still running non-tekno spur gears? V2 or v1 or v3 etc...

Thanks

I am currently running both rear braces. I am going to try running the long brace only. I need more tuning time on it. I am fighting a snappy loose problem. So far so good with the spur gears. 3 full race weekends with no issues on the V-2 spur gear.

I would say use the short brace as a tuning option.
I do not think it give you a problem with chassis flex.
AS far as the snapping loose problem, I would start playing with sway bars
and ride height.
this chassis will have different handling than the stock model

Ok I ran the chassis today with the long brace and so far so good. This may be the answer to making this truck fully durable. Thanks for the fix. I am running the V2 spur and it held up today with some pretty bad landings.

Which weights are folks running with this set up? I must have missed it but does anyone know the weight difference from the stock chassis?

I got to run the M2C chassis over the weekend. I ran it with the Tekno centre diff and v1 spur gear. No issues with the spur gear at all. This chassis defiantly fixes any spur gear issues. Now I just have to fine tune my setup. Great job M2C.

Well had a good day out this past weekend with 3 TQ rounds of qualifying and a run away win in the main, having made very few changes to my set up with the M2C chassis fitted the truggy was on rails and you can see from the 15 lap consistance and fastest lap time that i really was able to drive the truggy smooth and fast with this set up.

I added 30 gram weights to the rear of the chassis in front of the rear diff case, was running 3 washers on the C hub and removed 2 and went to 1 washer on the C hub, went up 50 weight in shock oils front and rear, also went up a little in my front & centre diff set up also, shame i didnt get a chance to shot some video on the day.

I can show you how to do the Serpent swap, do you already have a Xray diff
to put in?

Seems like the M2C chassis is gonna solve a lot of problems for people with the
spurs. Might be a better option.

No I don't have anything at the moment. I'm trying to figure out what route to take.
