Tekno NB48

Almost every manufacture has had tank problems at one time or another . The original RC8 tanks broke the same way, same with Durango. Mbx6 tanks where dodgy , ST-RR tanks crack on the bottom and most losi guys run rubber bands to keep the lids closed. Might seem like small consolation to tekno guys with broken tanks but a fix is coming. Tekno is a small and aggressive company that can react and address these issues very quickly.

We have more data on the tanks now and we are working on a solution for them as I type this. We hope to have a revised material tank by mid-March (a week and half). The fuel nipple will be replaced with a straight through connection to solve the clunk issue as well.
We will post more info as soon as we have it. For now, know that we acknowledge the issue and are working in our customers best interest to fix the issue as soon as possible. We will replace all broken tanks when we get the revised tanks in.
Thanks for your patience on this matter. Please let us know if you have any questions.

That sounds very good, strong position of mature company. Let me ask one question: for me as intl customer planning to buy NB48 what you can suggest to avoid troubles with 'old' tanks already packed in kits? Seems there will be no 'updated' kits by the date i'll place my order.
What we found in testing is that hard flat landings are the main cause of tank failure. Not really crashing, but hard landings.

So seems there is only way to make sure - order updated tank.

Small price to pay really considering I've paid for 3 new old tanks already plus one freebie from Tekno.
It's awesome that progress is being made on the issue though. Hopefully soon a stronger design tank will be out. I for one would rather a little extra weight to deal with than endless dnf's

I feel a very low level of confidence with the current tanks. Based on all the feedback provided no matter what precaution is taken with the tanks, they will have issues. I eagerly await the revised tanks in order to continue my full confidence in my Tekno products I have always had.

Well i have never broke a tank yet,, maybe it is cos i take my time and sort it before i go onto track
This is what i have done with 100%
First i drilled out the hole's to about 4mm, then i put xray tank inserts in the hole's, i then used the same screws as in the kit with washers and the two o ring's as per kit, then i tighten it down till there was no movement on the screw up or down,,,, job done
I have tested this well and the only thing i have not done is ram it into the wall,,,,,
Id sooner take the time and make sure, even if it is after every bad landing just bring it in and check, this is what i have done with 100% success rate
Well worth doing

I love running nitro so far. I'm glad I got a great car to start with. I'm the white car, black wing, yellow wheels. You'll see me come out of the pits 30 seconds into the video.
I was rushing around too much to remember to hit the record button for our 30 minute main but the car was awesome.
You'll even see a head-on collision in there. No signs on my car but unfortunately busted his K-car.

Anyway, Tekno says they are onto it and acknowledge there is an issue, so you'll be glad there is a fix when you do break a tank.

Well, trust, when I say I put in every effort to keep them from breaking, ever since the first one, more so as these cost me about $40 a tank by the time I install them. consider yourself lucky. I've tried everything you have plus a lot more, but still no sevens on dice. Admittedly I don't bring it in after every landing to check, but nobody does during a heat, and there are no walls to hit at our track, and I don't bash with my race cars. I' like to see a pic or two of your track Andy, just to see if we are on the same page, or better yet a vid.
