I don't recommend putting half of anyones set up on a car. You end up with front and rear end working against each other and it's worse that having the wrong one on. Just my opinion of course.

Yea I have to agree with Mo, definitely not the best way to tune, if you want to see the difference changes make then do one change at a time it's a great way to learn too but knowing Mo, I'm sure he already did every possible setup before deciding on this one so I'm betting it's pretty good if you drive on similar surface and drive like Mo ha.

madweazl 08-19-2014 06:21 PM

The front end setup I'm currently running is quite close and his takes some things like steering throw away which I'd prefer to hang on to unless I end up with an oversteer condition. The rest of the changes are very minor (droop within 2mm and the like).

Let me know how it works out as that is the next JBRL

madweazl 08-19-2014 08:53 PM

Will do :) You heading down to Heritage in the next week or two? I'd like to hit that in a couple weeks and could use some input if so.

sramos 08-19-2014 09:03 PM

Mo's setup is dialed!! Trust me!! Ha

madweazl 08-19-2014 09:14 PM

Only thing I'd like to know about Mo's setup is ambient temps.

sramos 08-20-2014 04:37 AM

I'd say 75-85. We love in Ohio/Pa area. That's what it's been the past month or so

ehartman_49348 08-20-2014 06:13 AM

I ran Mo's setup in 95-100 degree conditions this past weekend and it was dialed! The setup allows for driving smooth as well as driving hard, I don't think I ever had a car that would allow for both.....

You didnt go up on the shock oils at all? Expecting the weather to be right around 90° this weekend where I'll be racing.

On another note, has anyone tried the Imbue pistons? I'm not understanding how they would provide an increase in performance on rougher tracks but some people are stating they do.

shock oil settings will work great where you are going.

Excellent, thanks. On your setup sheet, high/low bite and rough/smooth arent checked, is this implying medium conditions?

lol. it covers everything.

madweazl 08-20-2014 05:45 PM

That statement just doesnt compute! I've driven so many cars over the last 25 years that have never been able to do this. Cant wait to start really leaning on it to see what it can do.

Mo, you have Fr toe set to "1" in your setup, does it mean normal "wheels out" and you just forgot about minus digit, or it is really "wheels in" like rear end?

Positive toe would indicate toe out.

it covers the baseline for everything. Losi 3.0, Kyosho, Mugen all have a set up that is rarely changed or when it is its small things on the car. BUT... the starting baseline set up doesn't change from track to track or temps to temps.
the set up is a baseline that I personally have yet to change and others haven't either. but a few small adjustments may be needed for your liking.
set up has a lot of traction and a lot of steering and floats over bumps and ruts, so anything more will come from you. another note as well though is the clutch. If your throwing a set up on, throw it all on. If you want it to be half as good as it is then by all means only put part of it on. No matter what makes sense.

sorry bro... but Madweazl is correct. it is toe out (+1) not many, if any, run toe in on 1/8 scale so I just didn't put the + sign.
so it is toe out and that's opposite the rear end

Looking forward to trying it this weekend for sure. We have such a wide variety of tracks available out here that I'm always messing with a number of things.

As for the wrap, does it have some sort of hologram that gives the illusion that the rear half of the cab isnt there

Graham11 08-21-2014 08:01 AM

For anyone new to the NB48 that doesnt love the stock body there are a couple after market bodies from FTW that work, specifcally theres the FTW reactor body specifically designed for the NB48 but I prefer the XB9 body from FTW which fits great the only thing that you need to change is the filter setup to the losi filter.

Mp9 vs Tekno

Mo,

How does this car compare to Mp9

Drivetrain?
Durability?
Jumping?
Acceleration?
Corner speed?

j dogg 08-21-2014 02:14 PM

Yea, I'm going with the Nightfox for the XB9. The Reactor is still a little too wild for me.

Drive train. Close but nothing is as free as kyosho
Durability. Beats the kyosho hands down by a long shot
Jumping. Way better. Doesn't have the front end bounce
Acceleration. Again Tekno wins. But in all fairness it beats everything in that dept
Corner speed. Tough one there. Actually probably give it to kyosho but not by much. Kyosho is tough to beat in the corners but Tekno will make it up on acceleration.

Anyone have idea how to fit Mo's 600/[email protected] shock config to the stock 8x1.3 pistons? What approx. weight should i use?

madweazl 08-21-2014 08:17 PM

Do you no longer have the black pistons that shipped with the kit?

Maybe try 550 and 450.

cannonballs 08-21-2014 09:10 PM

I got a question. I have noticed in alot of picture that most seem to use the Losi tank pull.. I got a set and noticed they fit way too loose. what are ya'll doing to fit them tightly, dont really want it flopping around.
