Growing pains. Every car has them. Especially first batch ones. At least Tekno is being active on the boards to resolve the issues. Most companies will not,and just change a part in the next batch and never tell the end consumer of this change.

Here's another photo whole car, I understand your point about the heat, but my tanks have cracked in different places every time. Yes the overflow tube has been halved. We have big triples here that's whT I suspect, but I'm also running my xray truggy today, no problems
Ok back to tank 1mm is no where near enough play. Use 10mm piece of fuel tube as a cushion and a longer tank screws your tank needs to move a lot mate I now have well over 4L on this tank running weekly with no problems at all. Put the longer screw through the drilled out tank holder hole and then 10mm fuel tube and screw it down to just touch the fuel tube and leave it there it will be loose and fine But yes Danny and Tekno are working with us team guys as we speak  |

Sorry Tekno, I'm out. This is my third broken tank. Car has done less than 20 minutes runtime. I know the sceptics will say its driving/ landings/ luck/ voodoo but the fact is I have half an off-road club as my witness that those things were not the problem. I have drilled the holes out to 4mm. I have purchased shock absorbing rubber o rings, I have left 1 mm of play for the tank. Pretty much at wits ends. It's not just the money ( tanks equal about 40 a pop to get to Australia ) it's the inconvenience, and the dnf's and having to switch classes halfway through a series round. In my opinion the product is not fit for its purpose. I have an Xt9 that's been running strong at the same track, same conditions, no broken tanks, and a 3 year old D8 still on its original tank. Really wanted to like this brand, but I don't really wanna be a guinea pig for its products.
I'm gonna see if Tower can help me out with something, otherwise keep an eye out for an nb48 with less than 20 mins runtime in the for sale Aussie section. Real disappointed. |
No fuel tank problem for me, but the diff drive cups are wearing off very fast, much faster then my mbx7.....

Hello everyone,
Sorry to hear some of you are having issues with the tanks. Please contact me directly at [email protected] with detail pictures and I will assist you to the best of my ability. We will get to the bottom of the issues you are having and help you get replacment tanks. We ran for months without any issues with the tanks and are working our best to help those that are having issues. Big in japan please send me pictures of your pipe hanger where it mounts to the chassis. If the wire is not cut flush with the mount it can cause problems with the tank when the chassis flexes. Thanks for supporting our products everyone! -Thomas Tekno RC Customer Support |
This is reminding me of the original RC8 tank issue. It may be the type of plastic the tank is made from. Once AE went away from the clear/smoke colored tank and used a different kind of plastic that wasn't to translucent, a lot of the issues went away.

1mm is not where near enough
my tank can move atleast 5mm with the 10mm fuel tube taking up the big impacts and i am talking jumping well over 8m long on jumps and over 2m high on others no issues my tank can rock back and forth and side ways by miles but never comes out but yes i would like to see a stronger tank as well in the future |

Why all this extra this n extra that? Tank moving 5mm with 10mm of cushion:weird: that's crazy!! The car should work how the instructions say build it!!! Bottom line,Stop already and just wait for tekno to admit that its a problem n let them fix it! Its not like we haven't seen this kind of thing before (mbx7) those extra mods you guys are posting to fix this is only making the buggy look like a joke......smh
