Considering to buy that kit. What kind of shoes are you using other then the stock and are you getting a lot of usage out of the stock shoes/springs? What about the engine positioning and lipo size that will fit in there?
Thanks |
At what point do you clean/change the air filter(s)? My outer one is dirty outside, but inside is still pink maybe 1/8 inch deep. Inner one looks like the day I installed it.
|
I'd just clean the outer myself. To anyone fairly new to nitro, I highly recommend a light outer filter kind of cover. It's basically like a panty hose kind of material, and it DRASTICALLY reduces air filter mainteance.. Here in Germany they're called Robitronic Dirt Bags. What brand names are available to you I don't know..

What would work better on a tighter track? Mugen or tekno?

Looks awesome, but I think your steering link is a bit short! Your servo arm as really angled n your wheels r straight.......my OCD would kill me if it's not all centered:nod:

so I guess the losi style protek wont work. As for the losi clutch I always disappointed with the life from those shoes...

Pretty sure any shoes made for the Losi car will drop right in.

Cool. What about the motor positionning?

The car accepts hump packs only. I use a Revtech 2500mah hump pack. That measures 31 x 32 x 55mm. I added a piece of foam padding that was about 1/16" thick to take up the play in the box. http://www.trinityrc.net/shop/index....product_id=354 |

both can work well on the same track but coming from a mugen to the tekno my tekno definately has more rotation than my mugen did,my mugen seemed to work better on bumpier more open tracks,my tekno seems to work better everywhere now that i have found some setups for other tracks.

ok thanks, one more ?, is it durable? I love the mugen but its not durable, thats why im considering buuing this.
I agree with everything that Kevin mentioned before about the Mugen handling the rough better but it's because it weighs so much more. Someone asked me to compare the two when I first got the Tekno and I told them the Mugen was more like a Cadillac, easier to drive but slower, and the Tekno was a Porsche, same equipment was way faster (much lighter), more nimble, and it wants you to drive faster. I love my Tekno stuff. I don't dread working on them because all I every have to do is clean it. |
