Love the lockdowns but just be careful, sometimes they can have to much side bite and cause LOTS of traction rolls. They seem to work well once a track has dried/grooved up and there is a little bit of loam on the outsides. The tire seems to deal well even if you get into the loam a little bit.

That was what I was hoping for. The track grooves in well and has a lot of grip but they never sweep so there is always dust/loam outside the groove. Blockades can work well and Gridirons were very good. I was actually trying to find something that would be a bit less edgy when the track starts to rut up though so that may be an issue down the road.

better. The new patterns are great but nothing does groove/dust like Holeshots. |
The Holeshots work very well there (reason I grabbed the Gridirons and am trying the Double Dee's). Was just hoping the Lockdowns would be as forgiving as the Holeshots but last a bit longer like the Blockades. Appreciate everyones input though!

bigBlox is my go to tire!
|
I run big blox as well but sometimes I start over thinking tire choice and ultimately go back to the trusty old blockades or holeshots. But i have all the Pro-Line tires (obviously) and specifically the X compound and have been really impressed with how long they last. They are sending some fugitives for buggy(I dont know where these will work yet) and some X compound truggy tires this week so excited to see how they do with truggy.

I hadnt even seen the Big Blox. Due they work on surfaces similar to the Holeshot? I would think they would be less effective than the Holeshot and Blockade for a high bite hard packed surface?

I ran them at Dirt Nitro Challenge last year. Dakotah was killing it with Holeshots but hey wore too fast for guys that Pay for tires. and Blockades were a little grabby. The big blox were the traction of a blockade but less grabby on the edges.since the nitro challenge I have ran them in several places. I think the greatest tire all around is still the holeshot but if your in a situation where they aren't lasting then Big Blox are a good tire to have

I tried Big Blox (X3) at the Nationals at Thornhill this year and although they felt easier to drive, they were slower than X3 (and X2) Blockades.... Maybe that was just for that one track, I have not tried them since. I am excited to try the new Fugitives though, seems an excellent hybrid between Holeshots and Blockades!

This is my NB48 currently set up, it is working really great so far except for some traction roll on speed corners, any suggestions?

Attachment 1240081 For the traction roll, are you sure its not the tires and/or track? And idk if its my comp but I cant see any marking for rear hub mounting hole and front shock tower camber link holes? |
