if i could get the clutch bearings to last a tad longer that would be good but its a small cost of nitro racing that we all have to do

Having the same issues here with CB bearings... Ive tried everything.. just seems like this cars is tough on em....Not sure if its a chassis flex issue or not ...hard to tell really....but other then that the car is top notch.. most stable car Ive ever driven

Try the TKO specials. I'm on 2 race weekends on the truck and 1 on buggy. Only running rear one in buggy.

I just ordered some TKO specials for the losi bell. I think the easiest way to get over this is by using the losi bells.

I take that back. I think losi bells uses 5x11 also for the 15t.. ugh

Yeah but the front bearing are 5x11 not 5x10. You can only get TKO Special bearing in 5x13 and 5x10. I was trying to find a way to use 5x10 in the front..:flaming:

masher81 08-11-2014 12:28 PM

Losi front bearings are 5x11x4.

Cappy 08-11-2014 01:21 PM

I just remeasured my losi bell and bearings and the front is 5x10x4 and the rear is 5x13x4
Now thats on my Losi Bell maybe not anyone elses...

masher81 08-11-2014 01:39 PM

Yes they are either 5x10 or 5x11.. I can't remember for sure.. but the big difference is that they are 4mm wide instead of the Tekno 5mm.

You can shim the clutch to make up the 1mm difference.

if you want to use the TKO bearings you can also use a serpent clutchbell.

Tower sent a $72 coupon and along with the easy pay option, made it to hard to resist. Should have the buggy by Friday :) Now to sift through all the info and get a body out to Larry at RCKustom Graphix to get my colors matched.

I haven't had any bearing issues since learning how to shim properly and using TKO bearings, blue seals facing each other. I have Losi, protek, Tekno brand "Losi style" bells and the TKOs work with 90% of them just need to shim accordingly, if it calls for a 5mm and you only have the 4mm, you can shim to make up difference. I get 2-3 race days out of TKO bearings now as opposed to 2-3 qualifiers. I also run the Buku clutch, very happy w it, running w a serpent vented bell.

Anyone tried the Racers Edge Pro servo horn? Currently have it on my AE8.2 and would like to transfer it over to this car if possible. Saw the ones recommended in the first post, was just hoping these worked as well. Cant wait for the new build.

The problem is height. The linkage mounts to the top of a Tekno horn. The High
offset HB horns also work by mounting the linkage under.

You either need one thats stepped down (Tekno)

Or one thats stepped up (HB)
