I love the narrow design, that's what my GT started as! Welcome to the Tekno side.:)

Has anyone tried truggy rear diff in the buggy? I was told it makes the buggy pull hard out of the corners.

With the correct set up you won't need that diff to make the buggy pull out of the corner

Even on front mount motor the front wheels can be just on the ground or off depending on traction at track.

Find the perfect set up and enjoy but I highly doubt you will need more pull out of a corner

I think he may have been talking about underdriving the rear/overdriving the front.

I recall there being discussion on it a couple of weeks ago, using some diff parts from the truggy it can be done, yes. Can't recall exactly which parts, probably the crown gear and pinion gear.

The pinion in buggy is a 9 tooth and truggy is a 10 tooth. So I am wondering if anyone had good results from this. I know you put the 10 tooth pinion in the rear of the buggy. This will give you more pull from the front.

Hey guys thinking vof purchasing a NB48 to race in nitro buggy. People say it's a underrated kit and that it's really good, so I was thinking of giving it a try! If I don't get this one I would go with the mugen! I have run Kyosho,Durango, tamiya and hotbodies none of which fit my driving style. I drive aggresive and love to whip the cars in mid air and adjust to the landig. I really "Beat my kits". People say it's nice and all but I cam here to see what people's opinion was. Is it durable...pro's?? Con's??? How does it drive??? Any help would be awesome! Thank you!

First, I think its safe to say durability is second to none, i have only broke one thing and it was my fault. As for how it drives, tons of steering, tons of brakes, very adjustable especially with ability to do forward or rear motor setup. It flies great, very balanced, i would say it even flies better than my eb48. I really dont think you can go wrong with a Tekno kit, the parts support and customer service is like no other company, if theres a defect or issue w a part they fix it and send you a new one free, no having to go buy V2 parts like every other company, the kits are constantly updated w the better parts and they come with all the hop up parts in the box. overall great kit and I am sure you will like it.

I switched from mugen.
I will never go back. We have such great support in Region 2 with Tekno.
We have 8 team drivers here. I tell you what. You buy the buggy and you don't like it. I will buy it. :)

just bought the NB48.. spare me the 128 page read and highlight the "need to do/know" list for the build. Know Tekno there probably isn't any must have upgrades, but if there is anything let me know.

thanks

From my experience:

Make sure you have a 10mm bolt connecting the rear chassis brace to your diff case (maybe new kits come with it).

Make sure you have a v2 fuel tank - it's a more whiteish color and does not have a nipple for the fuel outlet

I've also read about v2 diff shims- apparently older kits had some problems with their diff shims- I havnt experienced this but I also havnt opened up my diffs since the build.

Other than that the buggy has been solid.

If you bought your kit super recently I would imagine it has all this already. Tekno is pretty good about putting updated parts in their new kits

Any of my tekno brothers and sisters headed to THE WICKED WEEKEND 2014. We have a ton of local racers also heading down, but would be nice to meet and talk to some other tekno drivers since there are only a few of us locally.

landed on a setup that for the first time with any car My buggy was faster than my truggy. however due to a hole in my carb boot didn't get the results I was looking for but from here out..its ON!!!
cant post it due to file too large but PM me or post an email and I can send it to you

DBL15 08-10-2014 06:26 PM

got another testing day on this buggy yesterday so much fun i must say

a mate got his up and running as well and between both cars they now drive and feel perfectly the same

if i could get the clutch bearings to last a tad longer that would be good but its a small cost of nitro racing that we all have to do

no parts required no breaks and 100's of laps run hehe great fun
