Here is my first few laps with the nitro buggy. Went up in shock oil in the rear shocks after this run.

Looks good!

Danny,

I'm very curious and maybe you have answered this is the past. Now that you're producing nitro kits, I think it would be a great I idea for Tekno to produce a starter box that will accomadate the buggy and truggy, is this possible?

Yes, it's possible and it's something we're considering. Probably wouldn't be for a while if we did though. A few other projects are first. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for sharing, Matt. I'd love to see an after video with changes you made if you get the chance. Thanks again :-).

You dont need to make an entire box. Just take a look at how Losi does the
convertable Buggy/Truggy top for there box and then make a top like that for
the OFNA truggy box that was linked to in the post above. Those are by far
the most powerful and reliable boxes on the market.

A convertable Buggy/Truggy top like this

That's a good idea. We'll look in to it. Thanks.

Grab the low-profile hobao oval filters, they work.

never got a chance to get video during quals but the car was really good. I let several people drive it and the setup on the car seemed to fit everybody that drove it.

I'm not sure who has them or if any were taken. I know we have pics. We swept eBuggy, 1 & 2 in SC 4x4, 1 & 2 in nitro truggy, TQ'd open nitro buggy, and qualified 4th in the expert buggy main. Had engine issues in the buggy mains, but the buggies were awesome all day.

All good. Drew a bit of a crowd actually as a lot of the nitro crowd was out. Beautiful day down here. Box setup may be a little loose for our track, but it could also be the awesome O.S. motor. I'm still learning.

One problem I had was the fuel uptake line and filter came off the nipple in the tank. I flat landed a big single a couple of times, and caught the pipe more than once, but no major wrecks. I managed to get some needle nose pliers in there and it went back on very easily... not a lot of bite if you know what I mean. It may have been loose to begin with. Don't know what to think of this yet. It didn't happen again.

Thanks for the feedback. The fuel line coming loose from the nipple in the tank is interesting. We haven't experienced that yet but I could see how it could happen if it was loose from the factory. Hopefully it stays put.

One thing we did this weekend was to go to 3.0 degrees of toe and move the hubs all the way forward. This helped a lot. Then we tried swapping the sway bars so that the front was 2.6mm and the rear was 2.5mm. You could even go higher on the front to further smooth out the car. Our cars have a ton of steering and it is sometimes necessary to limit it.

The other major thing we did, and it's different for everyone, was limit our dual rate / steering travel on the radio so the wheels don't turn as far. Alternatively, you could add another washer or two to the steering stops. Now that I have the steering travel where I want it, I will probably set it solely with the steering stops (not limited on the radio).

Are you still running the motor in the forward position?

Yes. We've run rear position on a number of occasions but always seem to come back to forward position. The car was designed to have the forward position be the stock position.

We will probably spend some time to get a rear motor setup, but we feel the forward motor will yield better results in almost every condition.

After letting several drivers drive the Tekno Buggy today I can tell you the setup on this car seemed to be good for everybody driven it. Here is the links for three of the people driven the car.

You need to select a higher quality video if it's too blury for you. I didn't shoot the video, but it is very high quality and if your not able to see it there is no reason to say it sucks.

Maybe your connection is not very good. Click on the gear icon on the lower right hand side of the video player and you can select 720p HD if you want.
