air8 - The February issue will have my first articles in it. The R/C Car staff is full of genuinely passionate hobbyists...and I think it shows in the magazine. I'm really excited to see everyone's reaction to my first couple issues.

There's a lot to do, but I really enjoy it. I love what I'm doing, and I hope people can see that in my work.

That's great. I wish I could say the same for myself. LOL. I need to buy a hobby shop and race track. Then I could say that...I hope.

Aaron,

Aaron, please let us know how the testing of the E-8ight went. well...when you're finished that is. LOL. I'd like to know a pro's opinion.

air8 - Be careful what you wish for. I know of many people (in this industry and others) that turned their hobbies into their careers...and regretted it.

I don't know what you mean by E-8IGHT? I haven't driven or seen an electric-powered 8IGHT buggy yet. I ran an electric-powered Mugen MBX-5R at Hot Rod on Tuesday night. I work for R/C Car magazine now, not Losi.

B_Wheeler - No, i haven't. The reason that clutch setup works in the buggy, is because it slips. The point is to make the car easy to drive. In a truggy, I don't think it would hook up enough to provide decent acceleration, and you'd probably go through shoes like crazy.

Consequently, I will be giving up my responsibilities as a full-time racer. I'd like to publically thank my sponsors BIG TIME for all they've done to support me over the years, and a special thank you to each individual who has helped my career within this wonderful industry progress into such a great opportunity.

My dad, Adam Drake, Todd Hodge, Mike Truhe, the Wachter family, I could go on for a long time. Thank you guys so much.

And of course, I'm THRILLED to be a part of the R/C Car staff. Stephen Bess and Jason Yu have put together an awesome rag for the racer and hobbyist alike, and I hope to be an integral part of helping this publication grow into something we all love to read!

Well thanks, I really appreciate it!

It's cool to be a part of a company that has several different magazines. I've been a regular reader of Dirt Bike and MXA for years, so it's cool to walk upstairs and see the guys who have been putting together those pages.

mxrider - That'd be cool, let me know when and I'll look.

Factory Seal - What's up dude? Thanks for the nice words. I've been having a lot of fun racing lately, and I've done pretty well.

Good luck getting your wife hooked! That was a pretty funny way of explaining it. There's only one way to get someone to understand how addicting this hobby is...and that's to get them a car of their own!
