Question for you Cobra. I ran Lipo for awhile, and went thru several batteries. Lipos didnt seem to handle the abuse from 1/8th scale off-road. I ran CommonSense batts and after awhile they would either stop working, get a bad cell, or swell to the point it looked like they were gonna blow. How do these type of cells hold up to the abuse? are they hardcased? Buying new reciever packs every month or so gets pretty pricey. Thanks for your input.
One of many benefits with LifePo batteries is this:
You'll stop racing, when the servos starts to slow down due to low voltage. The voltage is not under the discharge limit of the LiFePo batteries, so you'll not destroy them.
If you run LiPo batteries until the servo starts slowing down, you'll ruin the cells.

Frankly, LiFEPO4 cells are great to use but it is very delicate and will get bloated or damaged quite easily. Happened to us. I suspect, due to the tight space in the RX box, vibration does some damage to the battery pack. And the LIFEPO4 pack doesnt seem to have anything to protect the cells except the thin plastic shrink tube. Not saying the LIFEPO4 is no good, its juz not what its claimed since we have a couple of bloated packs...

Henergy is a very known high quality battery factory for many years .They have been researching LIFEPO4 tech for about 6 years and if they can only get 1400mah out of the packs that physically fit the buggie's and on road cars then i dout that the same physical size can be achieved in a larger capacity state .
Any thing above 1400mah at the small size to fit the above mentioned are lipo's and not lifepo4 .place them on the multi meter and see the voltage for yourself and then you will know .fully charged is 7.4volt and when a load is placed must be 6.4 volt any higher than that and it's lipos chem.
lipo fully charged is 8.4v loaded 7.4v

Safer and depends how they are manufactured the way the grid is made and the c rating discharge is how much run time you will get .we are getting about 1.8 hours with ace servos in full on racing conditions.
