Hey guys, newbie here... I just gotta say that you guys have it made with the quantity and quality of tracks that you guys race on. We have 2 tracks and 1 of them hardly ever opens, another track is in the making but has been in the making for years now.

I do have a question regarding my Losi 8-T 2.0 race roller that I recently picked up. I rebuilt all the diffs and shimmed the rear properly, after a couple of weekends I noticed the diff started clicking again, I still have the stock plastic rear inserts in the rear. Will the alluminum diff inserts solve my problems and how often do you guys go through pinion gears and ring gears?

Thanks for the guys.

I have gone through I set of diffs in 15 gallons. I use the Al. inserts and shim them tight. If they are clicking you should be able to add a shim and be good to go. The Al. inserts do not wear like the plastic inserts.

Yeah just shim it till it feels a lil grindy when you put the whole case back together. there will be a "High" spot on the gear and make sure that it isnt to tight when it gets there. Just try a few different shim combination's, get it tight and it will free up when you drive it.

+1
I have also found that if you buy the 8t 1.0 rear diff case....you don't need to shim them at all and you will not have ring and pinion issues

Incorrect, part of the reason we got a new case is to be Able to shim thing's,
The unfortunate thing is that A lot of guys dont know how to shim a diff properly and end up with Ring and pinion issues then trying to blame the truck when in reality its All user error.

As some have already said, Alum inserts and shim it tight with out an Excessive High spot and you should get Countless gallons with Zero issues.

i ran the same r+p in my original 2.0 t since it came out w/ the 2.0 case. Got a new truck last oct and have the same r+p in that too with the 2.0 case. What the problem is people are not shimming them tight enough. they feel the high spot and back off. You need a tight mesh.

NICK: Are you going to tucson tuesday?
