It is tough getting them to be exact sometimes especially with the truggy rears. I can usually get them close enough the first time. If I want them perfect it usually takes a few tries. Even that doesn't take long for me though. Maybe 15 minutes to get a full set done perfectly.;)

hey token!...do you run 40 wt with 54hole on the front or 55hole

compensator foams

Hey guys, how dense are the compensator foams?,like a tire foam or more like a scrubbing pad foam?seems that their purpose is to not let the bladder "flip" the other way, also how large is the vent hole?I think I'll try to do my own mod.

pissed me off i was doing my dads the other day, showing him exactly what to do. i could not get air bubbles out of the shock. I left the shock to sit longer, still couldnt get it. i said F it had him replace everything on the shock(bladder, shaft, piston,o ring, spacer, oring ) and finally got it to bleed correctly. i was about to throw that freaking shock lol

Hi Losi Guy's and Girls,

I have a goofy question for you guys. Is the 2.0 fuel tanks still the clunk style? If so, is it just a hole in the tank that the fuel line goes thru or is there some type of fitting? Could someone measure and tell me the exact diameter of that hole if it is just the fuel line that goes thru?

Thanks!

Its still the hole in the bottom of the tank.. its looks like its 4 or 5mm

there is an corner type fitting Ive seen a couple of guys using instead of feeding the fuel line through the hole.. never bothered with it myself.

I think the black fitting is the efra fitting. Not sure what it does different with the tank.

hmmm? might be a rule or somthing. you could shove fuel line in the tank to pass tech then pull it out a little to add more room for fuel. idk

wish i knew that hole dia.

thanks guys

That's actually correct, well almost. They're worried about the line getting pulled out a bit during a race and changing tank capacity. The black elbow is just to keep the line from pulling out of the tank.;)

It can be a pain in the A$$ sometimes. Anytime I have an issue, an O-ring and bladder change will usually fix it.

Where does this added heat come from? There's no heat source that is aimed at the shocks and they can't build that kind of heat just from being actuated?? So where does this heat come from?

The biggest problem imsee with the losi shocks is that the bladder does not stay in place you can see this when you go to rebuild them the bladder is up inside the cap. This causes the shock to become inconsistent. With the piece of foam between the bladder and cap it holds the bladder in place and thus the shock becomes consistent.

Right on Frank. It is because of the bladder compressing. I have been running the Mugen truggy before just making the switch to Losi. I had done the shock cap mod on it and wow, what a difference. Every time taking the shocks apart the bladders were compressed into the cap. The foam keeps it where it should be with the correct amount of pressure. I do believe the hole is neccessary to let the air in and out. Just makes it more consistant. Changing bladders more often helps the oil leak problem. For what it's worth this is what I have found.

You would want something about the thickness of a mouse pad,but a little softer.

For the hole diameter, my calibers is reading 5.42mm you could you make it smaller and use other brands of fuel tubing, with dubro tubing I would try 5mm hole. My guess is that you are going to try this on a different brand of fuel tank...good idea but make sure that the tank you use does not have a splash baffle built in that does not run the full height of the tank. If it has a half baffle in it that is near the klunk, the klunk can get stuck up on the baffle and hold itself up out of the fuel and flame you out.

hey justin- just measured my tank and the hole is 5.32mm. i run the elbow on mine just to keep the hole plugged a little tighter and ensure that the clunk doesn't get pulled back and loose it's effectiveness. i'll be in omaha sunday if you need to look it over and i'll have my spare tank with if you need more measurements. if your looking to make some sort of alum. elbow, i would be happy to try a proto type!! ;)
