to keep a chassy alive for many gallons to come...yes.

i wouldnt run the skid plates, i have seen to many get hooked on stuff and get pulled out, by the time you wear through the chassis it will most likely be so tweaked that it needed replacing anyways, there is alot of flex in the 2.0's

the DE front and rear skid plates are the bomb. never an issue with catching stuff for me.... I highly recommend them

another thing you have to consider is ride height, if you measure the height from the bottom of the skid then the car will be a little higher then if it didnt have the skid plate, which would raise the center of gravity, also if you were to measure the skid plate the do the ride height making it where the chassis would be at the right ride height and the skid would be lower and give more of a chance of bottoming out

the DE skids have the side's cut out on the losi to still get at the proper ride height of the chassy.....i cant say ive ever seen a skid be pulled off or catch on anything....maby those Bulky alum version's on ebay...but the DE's are thin and have a nice flush lip to the chassy...and 3 for 6.99..How can you complain.

Thanks for the tip Integra. Our track is hard-packed, but there's a little bit of loose dirt if you get outside the main racing line. I need to buy a leather punch so I can put the holes in the tires instead of the wheels though. I tried a drill bit, but that doesn't work with soft compound tires. I never noticed any issues with the holes in the wheels on my buggy, but with the bigger tires on the truggy, the small amount of dirt that might make its way into the wheel would probably be more noticeable.

+1 I use the rear skids and front bumpskids. I really like the design of the bumpskid.

you can still use a leather punch on mounted wheel's...for truggy you just have to squish the tip where you want it and punch....but the only down side to doing this is that molded foams WILL tear from that tiny hole you punch...so the only time ill recommend the hole punch on a mounted wheel is if they have standard open cell insert's...which are way less prone to tearing if they get a hole punched through....sometimes it doesn't punch a hole in the foam..but sometimes it does...its hit or miss with mounted tires.....i also wont recommend cutting a "V" shaped hole...ive seen those tear and ruin a tire.

The bumpskid design really protects the front toe block and the front of the chassis. even though the skid itself doesn't cover the whole wear area on the chassis, it really stops the contact right at the kickup where chassis' wear out. The bumper that is designed into it is alot nicer than the stock one too.

Does the front bumper weigh more than stock?

this info comes from someone who has been in the industry a VERY long time. Keeps the suspension 100% bind free once it's on the track and getting dirty. Remember some slop in these little cars is a good thing. You'll find your buggy and truggy much more consistent once you've reamed the arms out with that reamer. :spidey:
